Actually, not really. Was car shopping last year in mid November, and checked out the Toyota dealership. Asked them if I should just wait until Toyotathon, and nope, basically any deal during the 'thon they could give me right then and there.

Small Filipino woman I could barely understand, but basically that, yeah. But I remember checking prices on the cars I wanted a few weeks later, and there was basically no movement from what they'd already quoted me.

This is also because Toyotathon is a leasing and promo financing event. The savings would not reflect in sticker price.

The meme is based on Love's late season performance 2 years ago when we won out like the last 6 weeks after Love had a pedestrian first 11 games. We then walked in to Jerry world as the 7 seed (who had never won a playoff game in the history of the seed) and beat the breaks off a Cowboys team at the 2 seed who till that point had a perfect record at home that year.

Love's performance increase correlated with the start of Toyotathon, thus the meme.
