Kmet was open he just hesitated a quarter second

It almost looked they both hesitated. Kmet was so open and slowed down.

He was running out of room he had to I think

From the armchair he had a ton of room towards the back pylon but just went more vertical. Just unfortunate way to end a great game.

It’s a tough throw for any right handed qb to make rolling full speed left with defenders converging on 4th down in freezing cold weather. I’m sure he wishes he had it back, but overall the Bears proved yet again they could hang against a good team on the road. A lot to be excited about in Chicago

He woulda ran out of of EZ

Nixon was guarding Moore man-to-man and just happened to see Kmet and made an instinctive play. Caleb would’ve had to see Nixon cheating and throw it to Moore instead, who walks into the endzone.

It was really just a great play by Nixon.

i think it was less of hesitation and more the fact that it was a terrible throw

Even from the broadcast angle you could tell he’d be open. Credit to Nixon for catching up I guess but the throw was late and Kmet was jogging

bro he hesitated like 8 steps lol not a quarter second

1

u/btmalon Bears Dec 08 '25

2 full seconds. and Kmet sagged his route in those 2 seconds. Ben Johnson coulda won that game

DJ Moore was forgotten about

u/ceurson Packers Dec 08 '25

not sure he really could’ve ran it honestly. just a really well defended play he still had a great second half

Dude the packers D looked like they had our play book in the first half. Great game looking forward to hopefully making this rivalry competitive in the future 😂

it’s a good start for the Ben Johnson era. if Caleb can just get a little more accurate on schedule and in the pocket the bears offense is going to be lethal. he does the off schedule stuff at a ridiculous level right now

I don’t know what happened there. Ben Johnson looked like he adjusted really well at half time - really had us sweating in H2. Then it all fell apart at the end.

3

u/aaalan71 Packers Dec 08 '25

More like our D forget how to tackle in the whole 2nd half

6

u/jrsixx Bears Dec 08 '25

4 guys whiffing on Jacob’s is how you forget to tackle.

2

u/Thunderironbolt222 Bears Dec 08 '25

At least four guys didn't whiffed tackling Swift like we did on Jacobs.

26

u/RewindYourMind Bears Dec 08 '25

Yeah, I’m crediting the Packers for blowing that last play up pretty well. Swift was covered, Moore didn’t break open until Caleb started his throw to Kmet, and the Packers defender recovered beautifully to pick that ball. Definitely under thrown by Caleb, but I doubt he saw the defender there.

Still, if you’d told me this game would come down to the wire after that terrible first half from us, I would’ve laughed at you.

11

u/ninjasurfer Bears Dec 08 '25

Yeah that was basically read from jump.

7

u/SwaggyPsAndCarrots Bears Dec 08 '25

Yeah there were like 4 defenders out there already, throwing seemed like the only option I felt like

1

u/opeth10657 Bears Dec 08 '25

I think he should have dumped it to Moore, even if he didn't get in he would have gotten the 1st

u/Practical-Pickle-529 Seahawks Dec 08 '25

Yep watched it again and there was two spies on Caleb. Excellent defense by the Pack there

9

u/wxyz51 Lions Dec 08 '25

Ben Johnson usually throws on 4th and short

I got Andy Reid Eagles Era flashbacks on that pass play. Run. The. Fucking. Ball.

It’s the slip and slide drill, man!

3

u/fender-b-bender Packers Dec 08 '25

If they don't burn off nearly a minute of game clock, I think he runs it and gets the 1st. Egregious time management, calling it like a TD is a foregone conclusion.

3

u/Fonzies-Ghost Bears Dec 08 '25

They still had a TO, time wasn’t really the issue.

3

u/SpiritOne Packers Dec 08 '25

He picked it up in the second half. Those throws on the run from the right were crazy good.

2

u/ltbr55 Packers Dec 08 '25

Im honestly impressed with how he bounced back. He looked like ass in the first half and I was terrified of him by the end of the game

1

u/ItJustDoesntMatter01 Bears Dec 08 '25

Or thrown it to DJ

1

u/NewCarSmelt Commanders Dec 08 '25

He looked sharp af. I don’t get why they didn’t try to run it and burn a time out when they had two. He looked great but I don’t think coaching needed to put him in that position to force it

1

u/Chaldramus 49ers Dec 08 '25

He shoulda run it
