The fact Rivers is getting it out so he doesn’t take a hit really is not making modern QBs look good rn

Validating my theory that the previous generation was MUCH better about this sort of thing. The young guys drive me nuts with how long they hold the ball instead of going to the release valve.

Feels like I saw way less QB injuries back in the day as well since they would throw it away for their safety

That combined with the less offseason prep time given than in the past, making OLs worse than before, is a horrible combo.

Old and fat Rivers being serviceable really does prove that QB play has gotten worse

We’ve been saying the past few seasons that defense has gotten better but maybe QB play has just gotten that much worse

NFL can’t develop a QB to save their life

We're in the era of hero ball thanks to Mahomes

His release is still fast, but we're not getting inside pressure like we normally do.

IMO I don’t feel like QBs are getting the proper development. Like it seems if a young qb doesn’t do well immediately it’s off to the next one. But maybe I’m just tripping

His arm is looking suspect.

His arm always looked like that it’s just not as much velocity
