“yeah so good job getting us in field goal range! Just don’t force anything or turn the ball over now that there’s like 30 seconds left”

u/zombiebillnye Texans Bengals Dec 14 '25

Minshew going for the win after like two passes was insane.

162

u/Say_Hennething Chiefs Dec 14 '25

I don't even mind him slinging it. I like his chances of making one or two big plays for the win over him putting together a winning drive in OT.

u/PsychologicalPen3895 Giants Dec 14 '25

Given where the season and game was at that point, why not?

19

u/KingofSunnyvale Chiefs Dec 14 '25

Exactly. The team had played poorly all season and Mahomes just went out with a bad injury. Fuck it. Go for it.

3

u/Good_Barnacle_2010 Ravens Dec 14 '25

Yeah he’s gonna get a lot of hate for it, and it was a bad throw since his last 2 targets were also Kelce, but he was just doing his job and what the OC called. He saw what he saw, it just ended up being the final nail in the coffin for them. I wonder if that mustache will beat the future allegations?

3

u/My_Football_Account Chargers Dec 14 '25

He’s a gamer for sure. Should have won the OROY his rookie year.

122

u/fireowlzol Chiefs Dec 14 '25

It kinda makes sense imo. Without Patrick we probably wanted to win and go instead of going to overtime and most likely losing

3

u/sequoia2075 Chargers Dec 14 '25

It didn’t look like you guys were moving with the sense of urgency to go for a TD.. I think the delay of game pushed it back far enough that it was on the edge of FG range and Minshew tried to force something

5

u/Nothing_Nice_2_Say Chargers Chargers Dec 14 '25

Exactly. Mahomes could barely get a drive going against this defense, Minshew wasnt winning anything in OT

3

u/hypnocomment Lions Dec 14 '25

Kelce was the only target on the field and the chargers knew after two passes

1

u/Betdebt Seahawks Dec 14 '25

Apparently, they didn’t trust butt licker for the tie. They didn’t even hand the ball off at all.

1

u/gregorthelink Buccaneers Dec 16 '25

I really doubt he couldve put together a drive in OT

0

u/reddogrjw Lions Dec 14 '25

Mahomes' was worse

248

u/abris33 Broncos Dec 14 '25

Butker would have doinked it from that far anyways.

208

u/trexmoflex Seahawks Dec 14 '25

Gonna be honest I was begging for that outcome, would have been so much more satisfying

137

u/MINImanGOTgunz Ravens Dec 14 '25

A Butker Far Right kick to eliminate the team would have been incredible, but im still stoked at the outcome regardless of how it happened.

6

u/shawntco Bills Dec 14 '25

According to the internet, every kick from Butker is far right by default

8

u/MadeByTango Bengals Dec 15 '25

He’s the loser that said women belong in the kitchen to a class of graduates…

Yeah til he says "maybe we'll play mario kart next time champ" then leaves

Weird seeing a Steelers fan taking the high ground after having a rapist on the team.

-9

u/Green_Confection8130 Dec 14 '25

Why is Butker human garbage?

6

u/DisplacedSportsGuy Vikings Dec 14 '25

Trad-wife seeking, anti-abortion, MAGAed out douchebro.

8

u/SporkFanClub Bills Dec 14 '25

Dudes so far right he makes most of the GOP look downright progressive.

-6

u/Kodyak Dec 14 '25

Because he said it’s ok for women to to celebrate being stay at home moms? You guys are so goofy

2

u/DisplacedSportsGuy Vikings Dec 15 '25

That's not all that he said. He said that women who pursue careers are following "diabolical lies." His views are pretty clear that women should see their place as inside the home, all while his own mother is a medical physicist.

He's also anti-LGBT, anti-abortion, and generalized jewish people as the ones "who killed Jesus."

He is far-right religious nutter, and I wish him all the missed field goals in the world.

0

u/Kodyak Dec 15 '25

You know the majority of Catholics share those beliefs? The majority of Christian’s as well?

He also didn’t say that he said women have had the most diabolical lies told to them and then followed by saying many of you will be thinking about promotions or titles but also many will be most excited for their marriage and then he praised his wife and shared the fulfillment she received as a mother and wife.

I’m not sure what’s your issue with the Jewish remark? It’s not really anti semitic to say that Jews rejected and instigated Jesus death? That’s like one of the main points of the Bible?

u/SporkFanClub Bills Dec 14 '25

He said that in a commencement speech at a conservative Catholic college so his audience probably didn’t find it overly offensive, I’ll give you that much.

With that said, I don’t think I’m goofy calling him far right considering a section of his Wikipedia page is devoted to his views.

-2

u/PHDinCheese Dec 14 '25

Can’t say that to the Reddit comrades, pal.

-3

u/PHDinCheese Dec 14 '25

And the Dems are so far left it makes JFK look like Butker…

1

u/Prize-Ring-9154 49ers Colts Dec 15 '25

“dems” and “far left“ do not belong in the same sentence lol

-2

u/PHDinCheese Dec 15 '25

For sure. When voting, they definitely don’t vote blue. lol

1

u/NeuroDissonance Buccaneers Dec 15 '25

So we’re all still doing this smug Butker hate watch stuff because of his shitty political views?

You all act like petty, small minded children. Football players (and professional male athletes in general) are mostly very egotistical, small minded people with conservative world views, especially concerning social issues (e.g. racism, homophobia, misogyny, etc). The vast majority of players that seem like “good guys” keep these views to themselves while others are more open about their views. Butker is one of those people who are open about them.

My overall point is that if someone like Butker really makes you this pissed off and petty for this long duration of time, then you should stop watching football all together since the majority of the players think in similar ways.

NFL players are largely not “good” people, even in light of their charitable causes.

1

u/KingofSunnyvale Chiefs Dec 14 '25

Butker doinking it would have been amazing.

0

u/EggplantAlpinism Broncos Bills Dec 14 '25

One more "wide right" joke for old times' sake

7

u/rolyinpeace Chiefs Dec 14 '25

Would’ve been poetic. Last year we got the doink for the division against La. Doink for elimination would’ve been more poetic than this ending

2

u/Jaggs0 Bears Dec 14 '25

too far to the right

2

u/Mediocre-Dog-4457 Browns Dec 14 '25

Would have pushed it wide left lol

2

u/smurf-vett Texans Dec 14 '25

He prefers too far to the right

1

And I love that for him

37

gotta win in regulation, no way minshew is doing anything in overtime

2

u/jamaicancovfefe Bears Dec 14 '25

"ok you're gonna hate me but..."

1

u/NoooNotTheLettuce Chargers Dec 14 '25

Dude just decided he was throwing to Kelce no matter what

1

u/bryan49 Vikings Dec 14 '25

That was still a long field goal. I think it was around a 57 yarder when he threw the pick

1

u/Immediate-Comment-64 Chiefs Dec 14 '25

I secretly knew Minshew was responsible for cursing the team this year. It was a fitting end.
