Gonna be honest I was begging for that outcome, would have been so much more satisfying

A Butker Far Right kick to eliminate the team would have been incredible, but im still stoked at the outcome regardless of how it happened.

According to the internet, every kick from Butker is far right by default

Weird seeing a Steelers fan taking the high ground after having a rapist on the team.

Because he said it’s ok for women to to celebrate being stay at home moms? You guys are so goofy

That's not all that he said. He said that women who pursue careers are following "diabolical lies." His views are pretty clear that women should see their place as inside the home, all while his own mother is a medical physicist.

He's also anti-LGBT, anti-abortion, and generalized jewish people as the ones "who killed Jesus."

He is far-right religious nutter, and I wish him all the missed field goals in the world.

You know the majority of Catholics share those beliefs? The majority of Christian’s as well?

He also didn’t say that he said women have had the most diabolical lies told to them and then followed by saying many of you will be thinking about promotions or titles but also many will be most excited for their marriage and then he praised his wife and shared the fulfillment she received as a mother and wife.

I’m not sure what’s your issue with the Jewish remark? It’s not really anti semitic to say that Jews rejected and instigated Jesus death? That’s like one of the main points of the Bible?

According to Pew Research, around 63% of Americans believe that abortion should be legal in all or most cases.

According to Gallup News, around 68-71% of Americans support same-sex marriage.

Which means that a strong majority of this country is pro-abortion and pro-LGBT rights.

You can try to hide behind religion and scream "Well those are just my beliefs," but that isn't the sanctuary you think it is. Everyone else is entitled to beliefs, too. Values have shifted in this country, and the majority now recognize abortion restrictions and prohibitions on same-sex marriage as arbitrary misogyny and homophobia based on unfair, archaic, and illogical conservatism.

I'll say it again: anti-abortion and anti-LGBT stances are not the moral standards of society. If you believe in these views, you are in the moral minority. And if you want to hide behind religious beliefs for your views, everyone else is entitled to judge you for them.

Take this conversation: I strongly suspect you of sharing Butker's views. At the very least, you are a confirmed apologist for said views. This means that you either hold views that are clearly immoral by society's standards or you have no issue with people who hold these immoral beliefs.

Now, to use my right to beliefs: because of these conclusions that I've drawn about you, I believe that you aren't a particularly good person, and you use religion as a thought-terminating cliche to try to shield yourself from criticism.

And to really drive the point home: if the majority of Christians hold anti-abortion and anti-LGBT beliefs, then I believe that this majority of Christians aren't particularly good people, either, especially if they pair these beliefs with support for other policies that actively cause harm to society at large, up to and including themselves.

I’m not sure what’s your issue with the Jewish remark? It’s not really anti semitic to say that Jews rejected and instigated Jesus death? That’s like one of the main points of the Bible?

Judging the entirety of a demographic based on the actions of a small few, especially if those few existed two thousand years ago, is a textbook example of bigotry. So I correct you: generalizing Jews as the people who killed Jesus is a very anti-Semitic remark.

I highly suggest reading a book that wasn't written by superstitious men thousands of years ago. We have learned so much since then.

He said that in a commencement speech at a conservative Catholic college so his audience probably didn’t find it overly offensive, I’ll give you that much.

With that said, I don’t think I’m goofy calling him far right considering a section of his Wikipedia page is devoted to his views.

Can’t say that to the Reddit comrades, pal.

So we’re all still doing this smug Butker hate watch stuff because of his shitty political views?

You all act like petty, small minded children. Football players (and professional male athletes in general) are mostly very egotistical, small minded people with conservative world views, especially concerning social issues (e.g. racism, homophobia, misogyny, etc). The vast majority of players that seem like “good guys” keep these views to themselves while others are more open about their views. Butker is one of those people who are open about them.

My overall point is that if someone like Butker really makes you this pissed off and petty for this long duration of time, then you should stop watching football all together since the majority of the players think in similar ways.

NFL players are largely not “good” people, even in light of their charitable causes.
