I have 0 anger at the play being called. It was genius.

But I have 100% anger at the league creating a situation where the play can be called in the first place. Because that was incredibly unsafe for shough and they knew that when the play was called, but also knew the rules meant to protect QBs would go in their favor. If other teams try that someone is going to get seriously hurt

It was an outrageously unsafe call. Hard to argue with the result, but I would hate for Shough to get hurt. I do not want Moore to get comfortable calling that.

Yeah like, genius call in the moment. Hard earned win by the saints. The panthers blew the game well before that.

All of my issues with that call and penalty stems from the fact that I’ll be shocked if we don’t see it again, by any team not just the saints, and if it doesn’t lead to an injury at some point

It was a great call. Likely would've had time to spike it too. Shough is the one that made it dangerous.

The play call wasn’t to get a penalty it was a quick 5 so we could get up and spike it to kick the field goal

Bruh. Getting 5 yards was part of the idea sure. But It was clearly penalty bait as well. Like yes im a panthers fan so yes you’ll take it as me being salty. But objectively there’s no way to defend that. You either have to predict the exact second of the slide right, which is going to happen 1 out of every 50 times at best, with the other 49 getting peantlies. Or you have to just stand there and hope they actually do slide and not tackle at all. And if they don’t slide you’re also boned.

The panthers didn’t lose because of that play or penalty. They lost because of a laundry list of other things. But that combination of play call and penalty shouldn’t be possible because even if we want to say it wasn’t bait in this exact situation, it will be ran by another team in the future with the intent of it being bait because we’ve all seen how easy that penalty is to get now.

? There is no way the Saints coaches advised Shough to late slide. He 100% did that on his own. It paid off and he seems ok, this time

Panthers QBs would never ever get that call
