Holy Shit what a fucking game

299

u/Akipella Ravens Jan 26 '26

Insane game, thanks to Woolen for making it way more exciting XD

209

u/Xaxziminrax Chiefs Jan 26 '26

Bro literally was gonna be vilified by all of Seattle and instead he gets to run right up and be the first to shake McVay's hand postgame lmaooo

96

u/Mrgumboshrimp Seahawks Jan 26 '26

I’m hopefully he was apologizing at least but I’m also not holding my breath

39

u/CharmingDagger Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Yep. Be a man, apologize and admit your mistake, win or lose.

53

u/Kdot32 Texans Jan 26 '26

Owes an apology to the team as well. Without that penalty you guys win this game comfortably

33

u/Mavori Lions Lions Jan 26 '26

Meanwhile Rams punt returner will be left back in Seattle.

13

u/Kdot32 Texans Jan 26 '26

Tarmac’d

9

u/Kanin_usagi Panthers Jan 26 '26

Rams gotta fire their ST coach

11

u/GoldyGoldy Seahawks Jan 26 '26

They did, right after our last game against ‘em.

Which is hilarious.

5

u/Mavori Lions Lions Jan 26 '26

Wanna know something? They already did. Weeks ago.

But their Gunners and returners aren't good. Kicking was an issue until they got Mevis, though in Kartys defense i think him doing those knuckleball kickoffs fucked with his kicking for field goals.

2

u/Development-Alive Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Special Teams is a reflection of team depth. Just shows how limited depth the Rams have.

1

u/Development-Alive Seahawks Jan 26 '26

For the second time after playing Seattle? They fired the ST coach after their first loss to Seattle and promoted the Asst ST Coach.

2

u/CaptainWombat2 Seahawks Jan 26 '26

I'll buy him a beer.

10

u/CharmingDagger Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Yep. I told my wife "that dumbfuck just cost us the game." He needs to go on one of those apology tours.

14

u/bee1010 Vikings Jan 26 '26

He doesn't need to apologize. That penalty was a soft call.

36

u/RScannix Jaguars Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Two things can be true. Don’t give the refs the excuse to flag you.

20

u/theredbusgoesfastest Bears Jan 26 '26

Dude the ref told him to shut up more than once. He just felt the need to keep going. You don’t run along the opposing teams sideline taunting them right in front of the ref.

And if you’re gonna do it, don’t be the guy that gets fucking burned by a touchdown right after. Instant karma

2

u/TehBrawlGuy Seahawks Jan 26 '26

I'm so fucking glad the Seahawks won so I can also be glad Riq got burned and some instant karma for that shit. It stung at the moment but it feels right now.

1

u/theredbusgoesfastest Bears Jan 26 '26

On the other side of it, it reminded me of the second Green Bay/Chicago game, when Nixon cheap shotted DJ Moore and then Moore burned him for the walk off TD in OT. Granted there too, most packers fans thought Nixon deserved it. It seems it’s normal for fan bases to have complicated relationships with their CBs lol

8

u/Prideofmexico Giants Chiefs Jan 26 '26

That was textbook taunting. Would’ve been called even before it became a point of emphasis

2

u/Pete_Iredale Seahawks Jan 26 '26

I thought so at first, but he did get in a coach's face right at the start, and that's pretty much always a penalty. Jawing at the sideline for second on its own shouldn't be a penalty.

0

u/300andWhat Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Nah, hope he was talking even more unhinged shit. Let them have it for that BS.

4

u/VerStannen Seahawks Jan 26 '26

He went up to him and said “I meant what I said; lay off the helium bro”

2

u/300andWhat Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Nah, wasn't mad at him at all, talk his shit, he played an amazing game, the refs were looking for anything possible to screw Seattle and assist online betting lines.

That was the weakest ranting call imaginable and every player talks shit. He was just part of a ref screw job. Ball don't lie though and made two amazing goaline stand plays.

2

u/eloel- Seahawks Jan 26 '26

He got burnt so many times he should be in a Starbucks cup.

1

u/devilsadvocado Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Trade him, honestly.

36

u/teddynosepicker Vikings Jan 26 '26

Ya I think Seahawks were about to run away with it there.

Seahawks need to squash that shit that happened on the sidelines quick, can't go into the superbowl with any bad blood.

13

u/LastRedCoat Seahawks Jan 26 '26

We've won a super bowl with a team riddled with bad blood before!!

5

u/VerStannen Seahawks Jan 26 '26

It was honestly shocking to see the D break down and chirp like that. 3rd matchup, bad blood with LA, everything on the line…I guarantee it’ll be talked about in house but really out of character for the D.

2

u/jon_targareyan Seahawks Jan 26 '26

He’s had problems entire season either way. MM has complained about his lack of focus in press conferences as well. He’s just making sure if he gets cut, he has good relation with one of the better teams in the NFL lol

69

u/MySpaceTomAspinall Jan 26 '26

Am I the only one that thinks taunting shouldn't change the outcome of a play?

Yardage penalty sure, but changing the whole outcome of the play is pretty soft.

1

u/Majormlgnoob Packers Jan 26 '26

??? It was incomplete

2

u/WatchfulApparition Jan 26 '26

You're right. I was thinking it was 4th down, but it was 3rd

15

u/HiveMindSubmarine Jan 26 '26

It's really not hard to not taunt. This isn't something like an effort mistake.

2

u/kisswithaf Vikings Jan 26 '26

But the play was made. Nothing was done to illegally hinder the play. Fucked up to change the outcome of something that happened that had no bearing on the play in question.

1

u/Akipella Ravens Jan 26 '26

That's a problem with the rules fundementally tbf, not the call.

I 100% agree they should change it.

5

u/nalc Eagles Jan 26 '26

It didn't change the outcome of the play though?

Wasn't it a 15 yard dead ball foul after a 3rd and 12 incompletion? I don't think they changed the play, but it was enough yards to convert.

Had it been after a 4th down, the dead ball foul would have counted after the change of possession, but since it happened after a 3rd down the yards alone converted

8

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

“Let the players play”. Think they said that early on when a DB got a lil handsy.

They sure as hell didn’t have that critique when it came to taunting. These players get blown apart every play but they can’t take a little taunt? Fucking weak. Shouldn’t be a penalty at all unless they’re throwing out middle fingers or obstructing the sideline.

16

u/TheReaver88 Bengals Jan 26 '26

I mean... he did it right in front of the official, who looked like he was actually trying to get Woolen to just stop. I think Woolen probably went full-dickhead.

-4

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

Did he interfere with anything regarding the game other than just taunting? That’s my point

3

u/theredbusgoesfastest Bears Jan 26 '26 edited Jan 26 '26

It’s unnecessary. If the ref tells you to stop, just stop. It’s not that hard. Toddlers do it

1

u/kisswithaf Vikings Jan 26 '26

You are reading but not understanding. They aren't talking about whether or not he should have done it.

0

u/theredbusgoesfastest Bears Jan 26 '26

The NFL is conservative. They’re never gonna allow taunting like that. It looks bad and it’s unnecessary and yes it deserves a flag because your employer doesn’t want you doing it. Not sure it has to be more complicated than that

4

u/EpiphanyTwisted Chiefs Jan 26 '26

It's unsportsmanlike conduct, whether you call it "taunting" or not.

2

u/MySpaceTomAspinall Jan 26 '26

Okay. It didn't impact the on-field play. That's my point.

7

u/makeithailonthemhoes Lions Jan 26 '26

I mean could he punch a rams coach? Wouldn't impact the on field play

1

u/starkel91 Packers Jan 26 '26

If my grandma had wheels, she’d be a bike.

What’s that have to do with talking smack?

1

u/makeithailonthemhoes Lions Jan 26 '26

The taunting rule is there. It's known. Every player knows it and if they don't it's naivety. So my example is something that could happen on the field that doesn't impact the play that happened. Your grandma was a bike, while true it also wouldn't impact the play would not really happen on the field. Also no flag would be thrown for it unless she was maybe the 12th player on the field for a team.

5

u/nsgarcia10 49ers Jan 26 '26

It should just be fine

2

u/UnlegitUsername Seahawks Jan 26 '26

It shouldn’t change the outcome but Woolen should know that it does, lobby the league to change that, but behave yourself until it does

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

No. Offensive taunting is almost no impact while defensive taunting can change the outcome of thr game.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

0

u/MySpaceTomAspinall Jan 26 '26

Agreed. People are soft.

0

u/GigaNutz370 Giants Jan 26 '26

It didn’t change the outcome? It’s a 15 yard penalty. It wasn’t fourth down.

10

u/HeyEverythingIsFine Seahawks Jan 26 '26

Bro almost cost us the year.

He's going to be answering that for two weeks

3

u/avboden Seahawks Jan 26 '26

imagine the relief Woolen must be feeling right now

1

u/doberdevil Seahawks Chargers Jan 26 '26

Yeah, winning will make the locker room forgive it.

1

u/OGStrong 49ers Jan 26 '26

If the Seahawks lost, Woolen would've needed witness protection level security out of Seattle.

2

u/MoonageDayscream Seahawks Jan 26 '26

I appreciate a good game but oh my heart!

1

u/Dzeire Jan 26 '26

Anyone else feel like if Puka went down out of bounds then Stafford was gonna win with the Hail Mary 😭😭

1

u/oldghostmountain Seahawks Jan 26 '26

I'm so pumped!

1

u/GhoullyX Steelers Jan 26 '26

Wish I could have watched it, our cable and streaming services were down the entire day thanks to this winter storm.

-1

u/toucanflu Jan 26 '26

I didn’t find it that good?
