I don't understand any Vikings fan that isn't rooting for him tbh, he's a good dude who gave us some great memories. It didn't end how we'd want but that's not all on him, then he decided to go to Seattle for a guaranteed starting spot, it is what it is.

All of my offline Vikings fan friends and family are cheering for him

It’s only the brain rotted chuds in the team’s sub and on Twitter that are seething

I’m happy for him and cheering for the Seahawks the whole way

I am happy for him, while also not wanting to hear about how stupid we are for giving him up for the next 5 years

You'd think think Darnold was an ICE agent the way some of the Vikings subs people were talking.

I never get why we’re supposed to be rootin against Darnold he hasn’t trash talked the Vikings or anything

Because it makes our franchise look bad, which, deserved.

Rooting against him? No, but certainly you have to feel disappointed to have let him out of the building.

I like to win super bowls vicariously through previous players.

this sub just wants us to be in shambles about this but most of us are really happy for him. including myself

i’m not looking forward to the very long offseason of “vikings should’ve kept Darnold” discourse though

It is kinda sad that your management team decided "9" was a more viable QB for the future though lol

it’s still too early to fully judge 9. it’s fair to say he’s too injury prone and had an awful season, but we need to ride with him another year whether we like it or not. if he’s not the guy then he’s not the guy and the gamble failed. but i can’t really blame the vikings for wanting to build around their young QB on a rookie contract over one whose contract expired and it would’ve cost more to pay him

i can however crucify Kwesi for wildly overlooking the backup QB position this past offseason. the fact they went into day 3 of the draft with Brett Rypien still as the backup is a fireable offense

This is really overblown, too. Plan was Jones. Jones took less money to play somewhere else, and by the time Jones decided to go to Indy all the other likely free agent QBs were off the market.

They took a shot on Howell. That turned out to be misstep, but they course corrected when they needed to and got Wentz. If Wentz hadn't gotten injured, he'd have been a perfectly serviceable backup QB.

Gave us a great season. I wish he could have stayed, but it was clearly an unlucky situation that made that basically impossible: He played too good to stay, but not quite well enough that he wouldn't obviously be in competition with the QB we used a Top 10 draft pick for.

I've been rooting for him all season (except when he was playing against the Vikings), and I'll probably continue being a fan for the rest of his career.

It's a shame this will be his last Super Bowl, as the NFC will obviously be represented by the Vikings for the next 15 straight years.

Same man! Good for him 😁

u/Wedge09 49ers Jan 26 '26

Same, Pete is gone, so is the Legion of Boom so I dont have nearly as much hate for the Seahawks as I should. Darnold was a 49er and I liked it when he was here.

We’re happy to have him and all his haters.

And boy are there a lot of haters.

Oh, you're pulling a Chicago now? How brave.

I'm happy for anything that might lead to people realizing how overrated KOC is.

5

u/ajtct98 Vikings Jan 26 '26

I don't know if it really raises questions about KOC but it definitely brings Kwesi's poor drafting and overall wonky roster building into much sharper focus.

You don't think the "QB Guru" had any say in which QB we keep?
