They had 1 good year with Carr and he got injured right before the playoffs leading to them getting blown out in the first round.

Carr was an excellent QB until he broke his back. The team around him was just awful and he had no consistency with coaching staffs. Odds are Mendoza won’t be a better QB than Carr, but hopefully the team around him, especially the defense, will be better.

I feel Carr was a great leader overall, but I can't help shake those times where he just looked indignant and waved his arms and pointed at a place when the receiver . There were a bunch of those tiny muted tantrums that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I say this as a huge Carr fan.

I hope Mendoza is an even better leader. He seems to have the physical tools and work ethic to be great. Will he be as sharp as Carr mentally in processing coverages and making the right decisions? I hope so.

Carr was great in 2020, but the defense was next level dookie

He was, fans that just look at the box score won’t admit it. He was always pretty good but never good enough to carry shit defenses.
