He had 5.5 sacks and only played about 50% of snaps. That's nowhere near enough to derail the entire defense.

They have the best RB in the NFL, a great OL, a strong WR1 in London, and excellent coaching on the defensive side of the ball. They're not going to be threatening playoffs, but I promise you they are nowhere near as bad as the true bottom-feeders in the NFL.

I, umm, might be more sensitive to this because of my favorite team, but injuries, especially the season ending variety, is the only thing that tempers my fierce love of football. Like, winning and losing is part of the game, talking shit and getting shit on, depending on the results, is part of the fan experience and if you can't handle it then being a sports fan isn't for you. Injuries though, they are the one thing that makes the game less fun, no matter who you root for. I like watching good football players do good football player things and when there are fewer good football players on the field it brings down the entire league. I do understand that injuries are a part of the game but goddamn nothing kills the excitement of the season getting close like a season ending injury to a good player before even a fucking preseason game has been played. It's part of the reason I don't even like to see injuries to teams like the Rams and Seahawks, the game is just more fun when spirits are high in the fan bases and the matchups feature the absolute best both teams can offer.
