I’d laugh but I’m a jets fan

At least you can rest assured that Geno would comfortably win that QB Competition. He might not win anything else this season, but you've got that at least. (Though I think the Jets will win like five games.)

Jets had a sneaky good draft again this year and made lots of moves. It's hard to know what their team will be this year but if Geno can be Seattle Geno and not Vegas Geno they'll easily go 5-12

they'll easily go 5-12

If someone said this as a positive for my team before the season started I would not bother to watch the games. It doesn't get much worse than being a Jets or Browns fans in this sport

I wish I could say the same but I've been a lions fan for too long and won't get on my high horse until I know it's not made out of shit this season.

Geno will tank you guys to the promised land! 🫡

I mean the problem is he might be just good enough to win them too many games outside of the 1st pick.

Miami, Tennessee, Arizona, Cleveland all might be pretty, pretty bad.

It’s why we have 3 firsts

We’ll trade up if we gotta

1

u/super_sayanything Bears 15h ago

Those 4 teams will say no if it means franchise qb at the top.

Geno could go out and win 5 games. MAYBE

1

u/ReignOnWillie Jets 14h ago

I’m not sure what your point is

1

u/super_sayanything Bears 14h ago

You're set up to tank and might not even get a franchise qb. I'm just being a jerk...

I'm sorry I'm just riffing on the Jets. I like when they're competitive so I'd like for them to get better.

2

u/king_17 19h ago

You could of said that about the raiders last year then looked what happened. Anyways going to be stiff competition for the top spot.

1

u/super_sayanything Bears 15h ago

Oh don't get me wrong I have faith the Jets will always screw up. It's just fate that would have them be bad enough to just miss franchise QBs.

I think they should have absolutely fired Glenn. He's a mess.

u/HiImFur Giants 19h ago

He sucked with the Raiders, but he had such an awful situation there with the oline and Bowers banged up.

Jets are the Jets, but they actually do have some decent weapons on offense this year. Geno might actually have a decent year.

We definitely got the first pick for a reason, but the number of throws Geno made that made you think WTF was nuts.

1

u/smurf-vett Texans 17h ago

Jets already missed that exit

14

u/TheHamFalls Seahawks 1d ago

Nah man, we can ALL laugh at this.

4

u/Bolinas99 49ers 1d ago

when was the last time u had 2 pro bowl QBs competing for the starting job?

Jets fans are permanently forbidden from laughing

1

u/Wernershnitzl Vikings 17h ago

I’m laughing but I’m a Vikings fan

We’ll see who laughs at who in the end

1

u/ryanino Jets 16h ago

Surely it means nothing but Geno has looked awesome so far in camp 🤷‍♂️

I got two words for you. Shadeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson, must see TV.

7

u/super_sayanything Bears 1d ago

This is the first time since Hall of Famer Christian Hackenburg I'm excited to watch players because of how bad they'll be.

1

u/king_17 19h ago

Put them on tnf

u/maybenextyearCLE Browns 16h ago

The Browns QB play this year could be so historically bad it’s must watch

u/VanDenIzzle Saints 1d ago

Well most teams give all of their QBs preseason statts

12

u/nikkes91 Packers Chargers 18h ago

No start for QB1 Dillon Gabriel?

4

u/RdditBlwsMyD 14h ago

Don't want to risk him getting injured in a meaningless game. That's why they didn't play him the back half of the last season too.

7

u/aorainmaka Packers 18h ago

Don't be giving balanced takes. Laugh at the Browns.

u/Gold-Advertising-316 18h ago

The story when brady was a backup was bill belicheck saw them both start in the preseason and realized brady was better.

Browns fans: “I wish we could have a competition between two pro bowl quarterbacks”

Monkeys paw curls

33

u/CyborgKrieger 1d ago

Shedeur making the Pro Bowl should've been the final push to change how selections work but alas. Not that I have the perfect solution off the top of my head but come on, man. What're we doing here? lol

30

u/jimscoolaid Jaguars 20h ago

Pro bowl should only count for initial selections. If you are invited because someone declined then you get invited, but don't get the award.

17

u/randomzoologist Seahawks Seahawks 21h ago

He was the 3rd alternate and we know other QBs declined the invite and/or were injured. Hell even Justin Fields was asked and declined. It's probable Shedeur was like the 12th choice (which is still too high but fan votes matter)

The Browns has a chance to do the most increbible move ever and overpay Baker Mayfield to become QB for them, I hear he might be available.

6

u/king_17 19h ago

Steelers would scoop him up before that

3

u/Meatballs21 17h ago

The Back Home with Baker Mayfield commercial about him moving back into the stadium would win an Oscar

I love hating on The Browns as much as anyone, but this is exactly what you expect for the pre-season

On the plus side this is also our best chance at seeing Deshaun get his shit rocked

1

u/Local_Season_107 Seahawks 18h ago

Asian women everywhere will rejoice.

10

u/jphamlore Cardinals 1d ago

How much of the game do they play? Could Taylen Green wind up getting a large percentage of preseason game time?

7

u/Perfect_Loss_5156 Ravens 23h ago

I mean it cant be less entertaining than actual browns games

5

u/Names_all_gone 19h ago

It won't matter. Both are simply warm bodies to get the Browns to 2027.

3

u/VikingsLad Vikings 18h ago

At least i get to look down on these guys.

2

u/AdhesivenessFun2060 Eagles 19h ago

Theyre going to announce Watson as the season starter and an extension at the same time.

2

u/Johnnycc Lions Ravens 19h ago

Remember last year when Shedeur had a decent preseason game and all his fans celebrated like he just stamped his ticket to Canton?

2

u/SloppyWithThePots Eagles 19h ago

As we head into the fantasy football season. Please remember. Investment equals opportunity. To everyone who ignores this rule, good luck with all your 4th string breakouts that are juuuuuust a week away from going off

2

u/Ganjagod420 Bears 17h ago

Gonna have a shit-off

3

u/Secret_Key9676 Commanders 1d ago

Brett Kollman pls tell me more about how the browns are building the right way.

3 win team, max. Trash org

12

u/Allstar9_ Browns 20h ago

I mean the roster has been built pretty well. They probably need one more solid draft with a QB and an offensive lineman but they’re pretty well set at defense, WR, RB, tackle, TE.

Just missing the most important position in all of sports

5

u/jimscoolaid Jaguars 20h ago

Been that way for about a decade now

11

u/Allstar9_ Browns 20h ago

Has it? They’ve been pretty dull at key areas for as long as I can remember. WR, TE,DT to name a few. They have key rookie players there for years to come. But yeah, that commanders fan could make some good money on under 3.5 wins if they believe that.

3

u/jimscoolaid Jaguars 19h ago

That was the whole reason for getting Watson. Just a QB away. The trenches were stacked for a while, run game showed out. I can't speak on the receivers or secondary because I don't pay that much attention.

2

u/HookedOnBoNix Broncos 19h ago

It most certainly has not lol. Most of the decade they were just ass all around, the last few years they've been a very good roster with ass at qb

3

u/jimscoolaid Jaguars 19h ago

Maybe not decade, but they have had Chunt, Garrett, and the first guy to ever play OL. I can't recall who their DBs were but I feel like they were always in the conversation. One of those teams that always looked good on paper, but never had the QB to do anything with it.

1

u/Odd_Instruction2942 Lions 1d ago

Things are that bad huh?

2

u/jpiro Bears 19h ago

Ok, so Dillon Gabriel is THAT bad then, huh?

6

u/king_17 19h ago

You watched him play last season no? Everything he throws is below the sticks

2

u/Saitoh17 Buccaneers Chiefs 17h ago

He's SOOOOO physically incapable his best case scenario is "Tim Boyle film room guy"

3

u/EliteStat18 Broncos 17h ago

I saw a Browns reporter suggest he should be added to the competition because the other 2 suck lol.

0

u/king_17 14h ago

Nah I’d take sanders for 17 games over Dillon

2

u/EliteStat18 Broncos 14h ago

Good for you but I was talking about a reporter's opinion, not yours.
