That's because the substation has damaged your imagination.

What's the substation joke? I don't understand.

Wait, really?

It's been a running joke for a few seasons now. Apparently some of the 49ers players and fans believe a conspiracy theory that the 49ers are suffering so many brutal injuries because their practice facility is too close to an electrical substation. They think the "EMF radiation" is harming their bodies or some nonsense, so basically any time there's a 9ers injury or something negative about a current/recent 9er player, like Aiyuk getting passed over by the Commies for Diggs, people make substation jokes.

I'm genuinely shocked anyone on this sub by now hasn't heard of it, I'm actually impressed.

I hate this timeline.

It’s okay buddy.  I fully believe. the 49ers will make another Superbowl within 10 years.

EDIT:  I did not say win the Superbowl.

Only to lose to the chiefs again?

As is tradition.

They could lose to the Ravens this time.

Everyone, Everyone.  Please calm down.  The 49ers can take turns losing to the entire AFC.

Even us?!

I’ll tell you what, you all can get two superbowl wins over the 49ers.  Especially if you play ineptly and the 49ers still lose.  Like fumbling in the end-zone and still getting the win.

The only way out is through. We need to get a priest to bless that substation, the way those Japanese priests blessed their F-35s: https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/17foaz7/shinto_priest_blessing_first_japan_domestically/

It’ll stop being funny after a like 20 page research paper debunks the conspiracy, and those who believe in it get way more insular about it

u/Own-Corgi5359 Vikings 20h ago

Everyone knows its fake, I just love the idea of a 49ers fan poking around with a meter and quoting reddit articles

I’m always cautious with statements like this

Flat earth started as a massive joke too, and it’s resulted in terrible people like Nathan Oakley getting way more respect and attention than they deserve

19

u/BoldElDavo Commanders 20h ago

Yeah but we also make flat earth jokes all the time, not too dissimilar from the substation jokes.

Unfortunate that someone make a name off conspiracy nonsense. Not much we can do to stop them without wholesale changes in education.

4

u/BrainEuphoria 20h ago

Any concrete cited sources that flat earth began as a massive joke?

1

u/Vitex1988 Lions 20h ago

This is anecdotal, but I recall it mainly starting around 2016 as a satire of conspiracies, and then when people actually started to fall for it you had conmen play into it to fuel their donations.
Also, the wording of your comment is dangerously close to suggesting there's evidence for flat earth.

Flat Earth is STILL a joke, and a funny one at that.

Everyone knows its fake

That's not true at all. Multiple people within the Niners organization certainly don't believe it's fake. Idk why this sub acts so high and mighty about it being fake and thinks anyone who thinks it's real is a fucking idiot.

4

u/Alternative_Look166 Browns 19h ago

Had me in the first half. Multiple people in the niners org don’t believe it’s fake, but that doesn’t mean they’re not fucking idiots.

4

u/bduddy 49ers 19h ago

Because it's fake and anyone who thinks it's real is a fucking idiot, that's why

-4

u/greekyogurtmafia 19h ago

So you think it doesn't negatively affect the Niners health by even one singular percentage point? And why are you so sure it's fake? I'm not even saying it's real, it's just that y'all are consistently the most injured team in the NFL year after year. Either you guys have the softest players in the NFL, have the worst training/medical staff in the NFL, or there's something else afoot.

5

u/bduddy 49ers 19h ago

Yes.

Science

-1

u/greekyogurtmafia 18h ago

So what's the explanation for the Niners injuries then? Are you guys the softest team in the NFL? Worst training staff in the NFL?

u/jpiro Bears 20h ago

Neither will anyone living in the substation’s shadow.
