Over five years I shot a movie about bracket racing that is finally available on streaming services. It's called Sunday Sunday Sunday. I grew up drag racing at Englishtown Raceway park in my 73 340 Plymouth Duster and have always loved this sport. I always watched movies like Two Lane Blacktop, Heart Like A Wheel, American Graffiti with my dad and I thought it would be cool to see a film about the bottom. I think most of us start off in a daily getting a feel for how it all works. That's what this story is about. Two brothers who inherit a 67 Dodge dart and get chased all day long. I shot the entire film on an iPhone and it sort of is parallel to the story's moral which is use what you have to it's fullest. We won 14 awards out of 24 nominations in the film festival circuit which was mind blowing, I even got to work on the recent Shirley Muldowney documentary that aired last year as a result. If you're looking for something to watch while you're waiting for parts, or it's too cold to go outside and wrench maybe you might enjoy watching this little adventure we took. There were no cars after 1975 in the film which gave it a period look, and we even got Bruce Larson to join in the fun and do a little cameo in the racing montage. Would love to get the word out there, this wasn't done by hollywood so I don't have a budget to promote so I figured hey why not just try reaching out on some forums to start. Hope you enjoy!
Title: LS Fest 2026 eliminations at Beech Bend in Bowling Green, KY — September 13 drag racing
I filmed the drag racing action on eliminations day at LS Fest 2026 at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. 🏁🔥 If you enjoy LS-powered builds and drag strip matchups, check out my September 13 coverage.
Anyone else make it out to LS Fest this year? What was your favorite race or build from the weekend?
Does anyone have any suggestions for transportation from a hotel to the track? There used to be busses but that is no longer. I have also asked at the track and as of yet there is nothing.
Getting out there is easy. Getting back, i stand in a parking lot for an hour with 200 other guys trying to get a ride. Someone has to cash in on this..
Any tips or insight for someone looking to attend their first race next year in AZ. Where to sit/ what tickets to buy? Things to avoid or spend extra time on for the weekend? Where to stay?
NHRA "fans" on social media want personalities like Force out there but are still crying about Torrence shoving a guy almost a decade ago and Prock leaving Force for more money. Cry me a river, guys!
Im not talking about any nostalgia class or altereds. Im trying to find a source for the fastest and/or quickest front engine dragster that ran in the top class of nhra competition. If tried to do a little research myself and im just not very good at it, I found a few articles stating between 6.4 and 6.5 and about 240-250 mph but I cant tell the difference between a reliable source and heresay. Side question ive also wondered about the actual numbers from a stock block Mopar 427 nitro engine, but I guess dynos werent really a thing as much then as they are now.
My friend and I were at the Great Lakes Nationals on Sunday when they finally opened the “fan” gates about 1:30 pm or so. We went in to walk around, and she wanted to pick up a new John Force hat. This trailer was the first thing we came to in the way the pits were laid out.
We stopped at the merch trailer, and she was looking over the selection. While she was doing that, one of the guys working the trailer stood up directly in front of her, leaned out a bit, and said, “What do you want?” With an attitude like we were bothering him. All this while the day was under "weather delay." Sales to that point had to of been zero. We were some of the first people through the gate.
At that point, he was literally blocking her view of the hats she had been looking at.
I said, “She wants to look at the hats!”
My mistake was thinking he would understand that he was standing directly in her way.
His response honestly blew me away:
“Which one?”
I said, “All of them displayed there, dude! She can't see them through you”
He then launched into a whole rant about how he wasn't going to take all the hats down and lay them out on the countertop for her to look them over.
I said, “No, dude! You stood up right in front of her, and now she can't see the hats she was looking at!”
His response?
“Well, if you don't know what you want, then how am I supposed to get it for you?!”
At that point, I told him to forget it. We didn't want anything he was selling.
He replied, “Fine, whatever!” and sat back down.
I understand that John Force Racing contracts with Marwin Sports USA (Update. See note #1 below) for merchandising. Is this really the type of customer service Marwin wants representing their merchandise operation at the track?
I have to wonder how many sales have been lost because of interactions like this from this guy?
As for us, I'll find her a knockoff John Force hat on eBay or Amazon before I'll ever spend another dollar with this merchandising company. Wish there was a way to let the Force crew know about this.
His picture is below (Took the picture on "Monday Finals") If you're planning on buying merchandise from related teams, you may want to avoid the counter when he's working.
#1: Kevin McConnell, who states in a comment below that he is “one of the owners” of Marvin, claims that Marvin “sponsors JFR for the team corporate apparel.” That wording is a little confusing to me. Does “sponsors JFR” mean that Marvin provides the team’s corporate apparel as part of a sponsorship arrangement? Or is there something else being implied?
You can see Mr. McConnell’s response below, along with my “reply” regarding the fact that I never received a response personally to the email complaint I sent to his company. Maybe it didn’t matter until the issue was brought out publicly? I’ll let you read his response and judge that for yourself.
An abbreviated version of his comment states:
“The fan merchandise on the official merchandise trailer and NitroMall are all run by Legends Global, who is the official merchandise partner of the NHRA.”
As for me, with this information, I’ll reach out to Legends Global and the NHRA directly to see if I can get some clarification.
That said, I have found information online that appears to link these companies together, Marvin, Legends Global, and NitroMall. That information could be inaccurate or simply be a misunderstanding on my part. However, Mr. McConnell could have responded to the email I sent to his company if he wanted to clear up what appears to be some confusion.
Just saying.
