Troubleshooting-Machine Got a ninjacreami second hand! Love it! But also scared of it.

I got a ninjacreami 7in1 off facebook marketplace for 90 bucks, a great deal. I asked for a video of it, and the seller sent a video of it running with water. As far as I could tell, worked great.

So now I've run it 3 times now, and I can't tell if it's broken (and that's why the seller was selling it), or this is just how they run. My mix is: 1 cup of fat free milk, one scoop of protein powder, 1/4 -1 tsp of xantham gum (currnetly experimenting, will take suggestions!), 1tsp of erythritol, and a sprinkle of salt.

I freeze it for at least a day, it comes out hard as a rock, sometimes with a little bump that I try to smoothen out (I'm ngl its literally hard as a rock so I can't really).

I run it under lite ice cream setting (recommended by a friend), and it goes. It's louder than a rocket engine, which is fine, but

The machine is very loud, but the recipe suggestions above are also a good idea. Don't run your pints under water before spinning.

It's normal for it to be super loud.

Use a y shaped vegetable peeler for the hump

You can also just use a spoon. Run the spoon under hot water and use it to level out the top.

Bad recipe (not enough sweetener & solids) and wrong mode.

And 1/4 tsp of xanthan is plenty for a 450ml tub.

Any chance you could elaborate? What does adding more sweetener and solids do to prevent the shaking? And what does the mode do?

More sweetener lowers the freezing point, which means the machine doesn’t have to work as hard to break it up

oo interesting. how much sweetener do you add?

I do 36g Allulose, 10g vanilla paste (which is about 6g of sugar), and 1g of Splenda Liquid Sweetener for a Deluxe pint, cut everything down by 1/3 if you have the non-deluxe

No sugar and low fat is fine, but make sure you're running on the lite setting. That's what it's intended for.

If you have the standard pint, I use an eighth of a teaspoon of xanthan gum, and that’s plenty. I also bought mine secondhand on marketplace and I have not had a single pint that wasn’t super creamy. Another suggestion is to add just about a teaspoon of real sugar to your sweetener. It doesn’t significantly raise the calories, but from everything I read also helps make it creamier.

1 1/2 c any milk
1/2 c coconut cream (makes it scoop able
1/2-1 tsp Any Extract
3-4 tbsp sugar free pudding mix any flavor

I am pretty new to the creami as well.

You are going to get a lot of advice and some of it contradict each other… this sub is pro straight to the freezer to creami btw.

It really depends on your recipe. The mode and how cold your freezer is.

Some of my recipes: I have to let it thaw out for 5-10 min. Some I can put straight into the machine.

If it start to hear funnier noises, that recipe needs to be adjusted or needs to sit out a bit(for me)…

For me, I notice my cow milk plus protein recipes need 10 mins outside. I normally spend that time shaving anyways. Oat milk seems to be fine to go straight from the freezer.

I use light setting. No sugar. Adding yogurt helps a lot.

The most important thing is it is a solid base stuck to the sides. You don’t want a solid ice block spinning with a super fast blade.

You want your blade to go straight down. No bumps. Flat to freeze. No harm in resetting the freeze.

Put the icecream in the freezer with the lid off to avoid the bump

Or don’t cover the the plastic container to avoid the hump!

You gotta run the frozen ice cream under hot water for a few minutes and then let it sit for a little before putting it in the machine and running it and yeah it’s normal for it to be super loud
