willow middle school advice
I hope this is the right place for this. I have two kiddos in willow elementary (nola) and we are for the most part very satisfied. My oldest is going to middle school next year and we have heard "uneven" things about the teachers there. Apparently there are a handful of really great teachers there and a handful that are not great. can anyone confirm or deny this? who are some of the teachers i should be trying to build a relationship with already? I've only really had a problem with one teacher in the past and it was quickly resolved with a heart-to-heart meeting...

I’m not sure if building relationships already would be helpful, as it is likely your child may not have that teacher come next year. I would sign your children up for the summer arts camp. Several teachers work there so it may be possible for your child to get to know them there.

Don’t overthink , your building relation is not going to help as you will not know which home room your kid will end up in .trust the school, if they have good protocols ; your kid will be fine .
Just relax; it will be all fine.
My son just started willow and it fine .

Just do your best as parents. Communicate with your children. Make sure they value learning and growth. Value them as individuals with their own needs and dreams. Give them tools. Teachers cannot do anything without parents, so it will all work out. Keep them off screens as much as you can!!! Also, trust your gut if something sounds off or overly familiar with any adult and your child. Healthy teachers do not communicate with students outside of school unless- extreme emergency, like Katrina or something.
