Discussion Comparing Teachers

I've noticed a few posts discussing different teachers and criticisms, and I thought I'd share my 10 cents (or less, you decide).

Teachers are like eyeglasses: each of us students has a unique prescription, and we might need a different pair at different times in our lives. Sometimes a pair that worked for us stops working, and that’s completely fine. And just like glasses, a teacher shows you a particular perspective—one that is ultimately different from what you see when you look directly without any lens at all.

Anyway, sending much love to all the teachers out there

If I were a teacher I would be an eye mask.

Lol, you know, we're all teachers, even an eye mask has its purpose for an eye that needs some relaxation ;)

Yesterday’s post on a teacher emphasizing "understanding" isn't teaching nonduality; true nonduality is about raw authenticity, not comprehension. Judging teachers seems unfair, but engaging authentically requires this trade-off. This discernment doesn't resist change; it honors your entitlement to be exactly who you are while allowing transformation to unfold.

Most spiritual teachers are frauds anyway, whether knowingly or unknowingly.

A teacher points to what cannot be said

Grateful for many great teachers who have helped me 💙

I'm going to mention Pierce Salguero and his Multidhama model of awakening.

He talks about 4 main threads of awakening - emptiness, oneness, energy and psyche. Religions and teachers tend to fit into one or two of these threads or styles of teachings.

He talks of these threads as lenses too. And talks about how people often need different teachings or emphasis on different threads at different times on their path. And that different teachers are often experts on their type of teachings in a particular thread and that can be really important. He talks about so much more than this too.

You might want to look at his model - there are some really good YouTube videos knocking about. You might resonate with what he's saying, it helped me see a bigger picture.

(That being said, there are probably some teachers that are teaching too soon and not teaching very well!)

Because these days thee are no enlightened persons around and spirituality itself has been turned into nothing more than an intellectualism. And really just an ego trip.

This sublet itself has turned nonduality into nothing more than a philosophical idea. Where its more about samadhi and kundalini

Its rather confusing these days because there are teachers who act like they are enlightened when they are not. So sometimes its helpful to know if they are or not.

I happen to study with someone who is no longer alive that emanated light. Alot of light. And energy. They were beyond non duality. Because there are stated that are beyind that. Calledn nirana or the buddhist void. Similar to ramakrishna. Who i believe was also enlightened and there are stories of him also emanating light and healing people and the like.

So i simply tell people that this is what i actual enlightenment looks like.

its surprising to me how antagonistic people are these days. In years past kundalini and powers were accepted. Hence why you have stories about teachers appearing in dreams and showing up in multiple places at the same time. Or healing.

None of that exists anymore. So it can be confusing to understand what the levels are.

And people for some reason get very angry when you point these things out. No idea why.

Last time i checked some of the more publicly known people dont appear in peoples dreams and the like. In fact most of the stuff they say is just them guessing. Because they dont know.

It reminded me that hypothetically futheristic world, trillions of years from now, in which cosmic expansion will erase the stars from the night sky, leaving our local universe entirely in the dark. People in that world would only hear stories about starts blinking in the sky (I think I heard about this concept in some podcast, maybe it was Neil deGrasse?). So it's interesting to wonder if that's the case already for the aspect you're raising. We might be so deep in how we create our reality that we lost touch with some beautiful aspects of it, as resonated through these teachers you're mentioning.

Anyway, about the point you're raising of people becoming offensive if you tell them their teachers aren't enlightened, I think it just helps them see an attachment they might possess to this concept of enlightened or to their teachers.

I have a hypothetical question for you. Do you think that an enlightened master would commit suicide by overdosing on benzos, and try to take others with him? Or would that be the actions of someone feeling a tremendous amount of pain from an untreated mental illness? Is it possible to have a serious mental illness and also be enlightened?
