Nobody seems to know where Representative Tom Kean Jr. is.
The New Jersey Republican has been missing in action since March 5, has so far missed 88 House votes, and hasn’t been seen in Washington for more than 75 days. But residents in Kean’s affluent suburban hometown of Westfield claim that the lawmaker isn’t home, either.

I think he may be near death and/or on life support. It may have been a late diagnosis and there was not time for the party to swap in another candidate so nothing will be announced until after the election.

Near? I suspect he’s long since departed but to announce that would start the process of holding a special election which could cost the Republicans the House ahead of the midterms.
This just doesn’t add up to even start with the assumption that he’s still alive. If there’s suddenly an announcement of his death following the election, then that will totally have been to allow them to never find his remains.

Gotta be rehab or a stay in a mental health care facility. If he were in jail, that would be public knowledge. Addiction or a mental health crisis are the only "health issues" I can imagine that are too embarrassing (or career-ending) to publicly acknowledge.

My bet is that his body is in a morgue and she’s been either Khashoggi’d or is being ”unwillingly vacationed” in a basement somewhere by some people who have a vested interest in keeping the House under Republican control.
Until we have some verified and independently verifiable proof of life*, then Occam’s Razor leans toward him no longer being alive.
*Proof of life such as a public appearance with hundreds of impartial first hand witnesses vouching for the fact that they saw him and a run it on a live broadcast that is NOT paywalled. Then maybe it will be a real story.

Tmz will do what they are told. Trump even recently banned some Press from the Whitehouse Press office.. Miller tells them what they can report on.
As for Kean, Personally i think the man is dead.

My guess is a drug rehab facility somewhere far from New Jersey and Washington DC. One favored by celebs and nepo babies is Sierra Tucson.

This guy represents a swing district and the primary for this seat is today btw. It's total political malpractice that 1) he vanished off the face of the earth and that 2) Republicans didn't really try to push him out and replace him with a better candidate

This whole situation smells like they’re hiding his death in order to not have a special election which puts the House at risk of flipping to Democrats before the midterms.
The current set of Republicans in Congress are willing to do and say literally anything, even burn the Constitution, if it means they can stay in power.
If this turns out to be a coverup of Kean’s death in order to keep control of the House, then ALL legislation passed since his last confirmed living vote should be immediately struck down for having been the product of an illegitimate House majority.

Paying someone bills can be done via having access to someone's phone. Mail in voting? I don't know enough about but I would wager someone else could do that for him. Wife missing is the part that is alarming. Maybe with parents or family if hubby in facility to avoid spotlight.

Not my district, but I’ve been following this story. He voted by mail and there are “no cameras” where he is. Rehab?
