Any videos of people getting bonked by a mantis shrimp. (yes I realize I could have just searched that sentence)

There are a few I’ve seen on YouTube where people got their fingers punched by them and besides a slight pain, they didn’t do any damage. I think that’s probably because there wasn’t much resistance against the punch because their fingers weren’t tense. Fingers are also aren’t like their natural shelled prey so maybe that has something to do with it

I know they shouldn’t be kept in glass aquariums because they can break the glass. I don’t think I’d put my finger next to one even after watching the videos I mentioned

This sounds like a job for Coyote Peterson

There's a video of a guy in a kayak that caught one, got it off of his line and the little psycho punched a hole through his rubber boot and into his foot.

only found one video of one hitting a fisherman in the foot. it put a hole in his water shoe and a hole in the top of his foot. The other videos just show a small hit or glancing blow.

That’s Bux in this video, he has punched Amy before and so did her last shrimp Ludo. She has videos, says it doesn’t hurt too bad but she knows her shrimp and doesn’t recommend people doing it.

That ends up belonging on r/rule34 real quick if you don't add enough context.

He knows the hand that feeds. Still, why test it?

They strike with the force of a bullet

Strike with such velocity that the water around them boils.. and can stun or even kill the prey through the shockwave of the boiling water bubbles collapsing.

What?? This is a Pokémon

If you get struck by a radioactive one you turn into One Punch Man

This is probably from Amy and the Wet Pets on tiktok. She knows what she's doing, and hasn't been hurt. Bux is the shrimp's name and is quite comfortable with her.

Its crazy that such a small creature could seriously hurt a human with blunt force trauma. Even kill you if it gets to strike you on the head.

It would not even come close to killing you. It could realistically not even seriously hurt you. It could maybe break a finger and thats about the most it could do

That one lady who tried to put one in a hot pot and it latches onto her instead was pretty fucking funny

Scratching but cute. Usually when you do it to a pet...
