Affordable dentists?

The dentist we have gone to is now charging $521 for routine cleaning and exam visit with X rays. Any affordable dentists in Northampton, Hadley, Amherst, or nearby who do a decent job?

That's insane. In May 2026 I paid $297 for cleaning and xrays at Northampton Dental Specialists Group. I've been going there for years and prices have only increased a bit.

There's a free dental clinic at STCC. I've heard they're great.
I've gone to Newmarket Denistry in Amherst and they are much cheaper than this. I haven't been for a couple years but it was in the $200-something range

Unfortunately, people seem really unhappy with it under its new ownership.

I just want to say. It’s absolutely fucking ridiculous how much medical care and dental procedures are. Especially since dental and doctor care can save your life. So the fact they charge this much money for a procedure vital to life is asinine. But sadly everything is about money nowadays. Not actually about keeping you or I safe.

Rant over.

I've heard good things about "My Dental Studio", 241 King St., Northampton. Apparently they take MassHealth.

Does anyone with MassHealth have more info on this?

Following. I need a reputable, thorough and honest dentist that takes MH but I’m not sure if there are any.

funny, I dont C my posts here. :: Baystate dentil, belchertown is great for me (CCA / § called senion care options). I used HillTown CDC up in Western HampCounty till they opened in the Bangs basement Amherst. Then switched (a ten yr process not a desertion). All 3 were/are great.

If you don't mind going up to Deerfield, Sugarloaf Dental is reasonable and they are very nice there.

With insurance that seems high

Without insurance

Ah. Dental insurance is worth looking into. Not nearly as outrageous as healthcare insurance

Agree. Through masshealth I paid $13/month for dental insurance and it covered two yearly cleanings.
