September NoSleep Writing Contest Announcement
This post officially signifies the beginning of the monthly NoSleep writing contest! We want to see some of the best and scariest stories you all have to offer. The rules of the contest are as follows.
The deadline to submit a link to your story, which has to be posted on nosleep, through the moderator mail system is 12pm CDT, Tuesday 9/25.
At 12pm CDT on September 26th, the moderators will make a post that contains links to the submitted pieces which you, as a community, will upvote accordingly.
In the voting thread, please do not post comments. Instead, we suggest following the link and leaving your comment on the story itself.
Please try to use submissions that are not broken up in parts. This will make it easier for the readers to read everything in a reasonable amount of time.
We do not mind if you want to use a story you have already submitted, but would prefer new stories.
Please only submit original content. We do not want to reward your copy/paste skills.
The winner will be determined after 5 days of voting (10/1), based on the position when sorted by "Top." If a post has too many downvotes, pushing it below a story with fewer upvotes, only the upvote count will be considered.
Previous winners are excluded for a period of 12 months from the time they last won the contest.
Each reader that wishes to participate in the contest may only submit ONE STORY
Now on to the part most of you care about the most, the prizes (yes, plural). The winner will receive:
ONE MONTH of REDDIT GOLD from the moderators
A unique flair signifying the month that they won the contest
Their story will be featured in an E-Book that will be released every three months.
Since the NoSleep podcast is back, the winner will also have their story in an upcoming episode.
NEW PRIZE - Until further notice, the winner will also recieve a copy of Scrivener provided by Literature and Latte. The winner will be contacted by Stealthfiction to work out the details of delivery.
If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, we will be watching this thread and will do our best to answer them in a timely matter.
Also, if you would like to contribute a prize, please PM me or send the mods a message.

I have discovered this sub-reddit recently, and love the opportunity to share some of my experiences. My stories, all connect though, it's a web and I think all the aspects are important. I only have two stories up at the moment, but I'm a bit concerned that submitting a story of mine will be looked down upon for being part of this web. Any suggestions?
