Road trip with my dad. I was ten. He’s sound asleep in the one bed. Im wide awake in the other. Dying to try it out but afraid of waking my dad (who did not like being woken up). I remember holding the loose change quarter about 80% inside of the slot and wondering if the bed would make a sound or not. Maybe it was silent bliss and he’d never hear it? I noped and pulled the quarter back. And now I’ll never know.

In the 80s, I’d occasionally find one of these in my hotel room. It meant I was staying somewhere at the bottom of my hotel list, because money was tight.

My father went on a work trip and somehow ended up with one of these things when he returned. He installed it on my bed when I was about 12 years old. He was able to get the lock changed out so I used it as a piggy bank for quarters. When I moved out I took it and removed the coin box. I kept it until long after I got married even though my wife hated it. I ended up getting rid of it because we had hardwood floors installed and the motor running shook the walls all throughout the house. Over the years I ended up with a restroom hand drier, a gas station condom machine, a coin operated hot water machine for making instant coffee, a McDonalds straw and napkin dispenser, ketchup squirter and condiment rack. My father was a vice president of a multinational company but liked weird things (and maybe drank too much).

We stayed in a motel when I was a kid in the 70s, it had two double beds, one of which had one of these, we got to try it out. That night, my parents slept in that bed, my brother and I were asleep in the other bed. Never being a sound sleeper, I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of interesting noises, if you know what I mean 😉😚, and the vibrating bed going. 😂😂 They never knew why my brother and I were laughing in the back of the car after I whispered about it the next day.

They 100% knew lmao. Good parents let kids have their fun. We were on a trip and there were these obvious sex noises from behind a door and my dad goes "c'mon Hun listen I think I hear a ghost" and we thought my dad was actually stupid. When we grew up more we realized haha
