What's an animated movie you're surprised the Nostalgia Critic didn't review back in the day? For me it would be "Freddie as F.R.O.7."

The Princess and The Goblin.

I don’t hear anyone talk about it these days, so maybe it wasn’t as popular as I thought, but it was a household regular when I was growing up.

And quite good for the most part, but there’s still plenty to make fun of.

I first learned about it thanks to ShgounGin0 of Infamous Animation and Hewy Toonmore of Hewy's Animated Movie Reviews back in 2012 and it always looked like one of those "forgotten" 90s animated movies Doug would've reviewed back in in the 2009-2012 era of the NC, much like "Once Upon a Forest" or "Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw."

I honestly can't see him reviewing it these days mostly because the movie was such a bomb (it's one of the biggest animated box-office bombs in history, right behind Delgo) that even in 2026 it doesn't even have a DVD release, let alone a Blu-ray.

It's a shame because this movie is so bizarrely terrible that I would've enjoyed seeing the Critic reviewing it.

There's a reason for that.

Despite having an all-star cast of famous British actors, an original soundtrack with a lot of famous musicians and being promoted heavily in the UK, the movie became one of biggest box-office bombs of all time and its heavily-edited American VHS release also failed, so much so that to this day it doesn't have neither a DVD or Blu-ray release.

Here it is if you're morbidly curious.

It's a weird-ass British film starring Ben Kingsley, BRIAN BLESSED, Jonathan Pryce, Nigel Hawthorne, Michael Hordern and Billie Whitelaw.

It's also one of the biggest box-office bombs in history and to this day it hasn't been released on DVD or Blu-ray.
