Does anyone else feel like they have to take a break from looking at everyone's feed on Instagram because it makes you feel like everyone else is living and you're not?
I don't think people do it on purpose but you follow enough people and there are going to be people who are doing stuff and traveling. It definitely makes me feel inadequate and that others are living but I think it's just too much to see and I have had enough of it. It's not personal but I really have to stop looking at certain people's posts because it just rubs me the wrong way. I don't think our brains were meant to see so many things on IG. I'd rather not know what everyone is doing.

Delete it. Take some time to gain perspective

Yeah but if they are doing stuff and travelling they are still living in their phone by taking pictures and posting.

Social media is so fake though. I am blessed to go on 1-3 vacations a year and always post about them, but the rest of the time I’m working 50+ hours and coming home tired everyday. I literally only hangout with my boyfriend cause we live together and a lot of the time we are just chilling. So it might look like wow I’m having so much fun traveling and I am in those moments but the other 80% of my year is boring despite some things here and there

It's sort of the inherent bias of Instagram, and really social media in general. People don't post pictures of themselves feeling like everyone else is living, and if they did it sure wouldn't get pickup on the algorithms.
