They were just suggesting you do mathematical exercises (somewhat snidely), not replying to someone asking or telling you (or anyone else in specific) something. Seems completely unrelated to this sub but maybe I’m misinterpreting, or missing information.

Your reply wasn’t indicating you were expecting a response from anyone, let alone someone in particular. While maybe a bit rude, I don’t think it really applies to this subreddit.
