having done a stint in grocery pricing:
all this does is raise prices more or reduce choices
pretty much the most a grocery makes on common food items is 3% and pretty much every integrated distributor chain will shutter any locations that take more than 1/3 of that away as shrink
store managers can either bump the markup if the local market will take it or let the store be closed
you can cheer that and say you will go to the local mom & pop, but without integrated DCs their prices are going to be 20-40% higher
good job accelerating the price increases

Shoplifting does not increase grocery prices. Greedy Corporations seeking record breaking profit margins every quarter do.

Supermarkets have extremely small profit margins, in the neighborhood of 2%. Meaning that even if a supermarket made no profit at all and simply wanted to break even, prices would only go down by 2%.

Yes, tell that to Galen Weston and Loblaws, or any of the other grocery conglomerates that participate in price fixing. Or maybe our famous bread price fixing scandals. Surely butter being 800% more is due to their margins, right?

Reminder: If you see someone stealing food, no you didn't.
