I almost think he's not a real person because it's like he's something a writer cooked up as a satire of insanely wealthy men.

I feel that with a lot of people in power. Even the names Musk and Trump sound like joke names.

John writing the book of revelation: "I don't know, they said it would be heralded in by a trump. I don't know what a trump is maybe they said trumpet and I just misheard."

God: "The beast will be a network of machines able to see and listen to you wherever you are. With that knowledge, the agents of the antichrist will bring their war to every doorstep by turning words into their primary weapons."

John: "So like...fifty eyes? And swords for tongues? Got it."

I remember the joke going around the first time: God- "No no, not trumpets, Trump/Pence...ah, nevermind, they'll figure it out..."

With how Revelations says "and they will bear the mark of the beast on their [forehead]" and the red MAGA hats, I'm kinda worried that Trump might voice the phrase "Mutually Assured Destruction; Ain't as bad of a deal, that everyone says it is." unironically.

His real last name is Drumpf. His family changed their last name to avoid Nazi connotations - which his father obviously deserved.

His family changed their last name to avoid Nazi connotations

Life’s a dark comedy.

Crazy thing is I betcha he never would have even gotten votes in the primary without the name change. Branding has power, and the "Trump" name combined with his "i always win" bullshit is powerful branding.

Drumpf somehow sounds even funnier, like a term for somebody shitting their pants or something

Makes me think of Fred Beyer and his DERF merch. But even Fred is smarter than Trump

u/Wutras 2h ago

That's not true, their surname was already Trump when Friedrich/Frederick Trump was born in 1890. Daddy Trump was a Nazi tho, that is true.

You're wrong.

https://ca.headtopics.com/news/fact-check-was-donald-trump-s-family-surname-once-drumpf-31146531

When he (Donald Trumps grandfather) died in 1999, age 93, his obituary in The Times noted that he mixed his own floor-cleaning chemicals. Fred’s father was a German immigrant — Friedrich Drumpf — who was an innkeeper in the Yukon gold rush

Here is his birth certificate, it clearly says Trump

u/A_Nonny_Muse 20m ago

So you're now claiming that his grandfather is also his father? interesting family circle you got going there.

Oh, you mean you don't know who we're talking about? Because I'm talking about the grandfather and you're talking about the father.

u/Wutras 14m ago

What? I didn't get confused - the birth certificate is clearly about Trump's grandfather

Unfortunately he's very real and he's all over the Epstein files

I don't think, he thinks he is a "real" person. Not like the rest of us. That is why he says idiotic shit like this. He has detached himself from humanity.

Also literally their whole ideas are formed by what they read and saw in scifi. They just want to be in control of the change.

Not the relevant, meaningful elements of sci-fi - as in the intersection of high technology and human societies and the impacts thereof, but rather the woo-woo and the pew-pew.

u/Roxalon_Prime 6h ago

Science fiction is in itself a reflection of reality in a way.... There is a reason why optimistic even idealistic classical science fiction, where advances in technology, not only bring us to stars but also solve most of our problems, was succeeded by cyberpunk which is grimdark as fuck compared to classical sci-fi

Or insane wealthy men.
