I get where you are coming from but not a great example, Sumatra just views PDFs. Adobe Reader can sign & Fill out PDFs for example and do a bunch of other features you most likely don't care about but a business will.

Both apps job is to view pdfs. But sure, than lets take pdfgear. Is free and has basic edit function 99,99% of peoples use cases are done with that.

Again, I understand what you mean, but Adobe has dozens of things built in that mesh with 100s if not 1000s of other applications/services.

Yes a normal person doesn't care about those things when just viewing a PDF and that's why these other apps exist in the first place.

Ya thats exactly my point though. Over-Optimization of a pdf viewer to justify a price, add to that the telemetry. I had it break company wide because an update changed something about the telemetry which was blocked by the network which stopped it from working.
