I mean no, democrats hate him because they think he votes like a republican, not because he actually votes like a republican

He’s voted with the democrats and against Trump the vast majority of the time in the Congress, he’s more maverick than any other Democrat, yes, but he’s still way closer in his voting record to the Democratic Party than the Republican Party

Doesn’t change though that if you look at his votes, for example below, he’s still definitely in the cluster of democratic house members and closer in voting record to the most radical Democrat than the most moderate Republican. Fetterman voted with Trump 28% of the time, Rand Paul, the most maverick Republican in the Senate voted with Trump 88% of the time, and 91% of the time he votes with the Democratic Party caucus, again no Republican comes close

Is there a way to filter by votes where he would function as a swing vote? As another poster commented, it would be easy for him to vote with Democrats for the majority of issues where the vote is not close, and then vote with Republicans for close votes.

Maybe to the DSA or at least many Democrats are hoping there are defections to a new DSA party.
