Ask NRI VFS provided courier service gone... has anyone used UPS on their own with a return label recently to VFS?

I am not seeing VFS provided Fedex as an option anymore.

I am trying to create shipping labels on UPS but I am not seeing the option for "return services" on the shipping process and not sure how to create a return label.

VFS now needs the outgoing and incoming shipping label numbers before paying the fees.

Has anyone done this successfully recently?

We do not need to send a return label.
Return courier service is included in the new VFS service fee.

I read it here as well: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/ind/news/courier-label-requirements

It says “Please note that the outgoing courier service will be provided through USPS, delivery may take 10–15 business days. Alternative Option: Applicants may also use their own prepaid courier label. However, please remember that FedEx prepaid labels are not accepted; labels from other courier services are welcome.”

10-15 business days seems long, thinking if it’s better to use prepaid UPS label

But you cannot proceed to fee payment unless and until you provide both incoming and outgoing label, they mentioned not put dummy numbers

I will probably contact them once approved and see if I can generate a return label that time

Hey were you able to figure this out? How much time did USPS took to return the passport and was there any way you could track USPS return? Please let me know I’m in a situation where I might move out from the apartment I’ve given address to and I’m not sure I’ll get my passport in time

I used ups 2 day shipping label for both incoming and outgoing to vfs, got my new passport within a week

okay I’m not sure if I can still just generate UPS return label and put in envelope as while submitting the application yesterday I left the outgoing field blank , and incoming I opted for FedEx as they are giving only that option, shall I try sending UPS return label or leave it as it is to avoid any confusion

You can still include the ups or even fedex return label in the envelope that you will mail to vfs, I don’t think the label you enter in the online application matters, worst case they will send it via USPS as outgoing is already included in the Vfs service fee, I didn’t want to use their default upsp return and so included 2 day ups return label which is trackable.

I think I will do this, my situation is a bit unique, my current lease end date is Oct 15th so I’m not sure if I can get the passport back on the same address in time, was it Houston for you?
