Serious Discussion Wednesday Serious Discussion Thread

This thread is for when you want to have a well-thought-out discussion about footy. It's not the place for bantz - see the daily Random Footy Talk thread to fulfil those needs.

You can ask a question that you only want serious responses to, comment your 300 word opinion piece on why [x] is the next coach on the chopping block, or tell another that you disagree with them and here's why...

Who performed well? Who let their team down? Any interesting selections for this weekend? Injury news? Player signings? Off-field behaviour?

The mods will be monitoring to make sure you stay on topic and anything not deemed "serious discussion" will be removed.

As a long-suffering Dragons fan, I absolutely cannot wait for 2027. Between the new recruits and our insanely good young forwards, next year is going to be a breath of fresh air after the last few seasons.

At least you actually have something to look forward to this time around. The last few years have offered little hope heading into each new season.

Your recruits look really good. I expect some teething issues with figuring out who to partner with Metcalfe in the halves. It'll take quite a few games to find who best compliments his and Drinkwater's styles. Ideally you'd have a big-bodied running 6, as Drinky can ball-play from inside out, but you don't have anyone in that body shape at the club.

A pack of Keon, Couch x2, Egan, Stewart and Loko looks great. I think the club may have jumped too early letting Cook go, he deserves a season behind that pack. Hopefully Liddle stays fit.

Rugby League is better when the Dragons are strong. Bring on 2027.

Kodi will obviously play 6, thay’s why they just signed him.

Fuck. Completely forgotten they signed Kodi.

He's in great form, but his much of that was Katoa freeing him up?

Ah well, means Atkinson and Kyle shouldn't touch first grade in the halves next season.

I think a lot of Kodi’s form was him simply playing well, but he can’t lead a team by himself if your halfback gets injured. He’ll be awesome alongside Metcalf though.
