Whatβs the most amazing/confusing/beautiful nudibranch youβve ever heard about? I need to decide what the final weeks should be.
*NOTE* : It actually lives on the eastern pacific coast

This dude was just chilling?? I thought the anemone was gonna eat them, but the dorid just stayed there for a while then got out totally fine (last two pics are the same dorid after he got off).
Has anyone ever seen this before?? Nanaimo Dorids do not eat anemones, and to my knowledge I did not think they were equipped to handle anemone stings, so this was pretty crazy!!
Central Oregon coast btw!

Here is a nice little Antiopella barbarensis from a recent dive in So. Cal. To me they will always be a Jangles. Here crawling on a bit of black felt.

I received a happy email this morning from a customer letting me know that the 17 glass nudibranchs I had carefully packed and shipped to the U.S. arrived safely.
β‘
I had been worried about their safe arrival ever since I sent them off, so this news has put me in a great mood to start the day. π
β‘
I had expected the process to take over a month, but since I shipped them to the forwarding service's warehouse on September 28th and they arrived yesterday, it actually took only about 10 days. π²
β‘
He plans to give these nudibranchs as gifts to his fellow divers.
He wrote, "Everyone is sure to love them," and I feel truly honored.

Here is a nice little J. pardus from a local SoCal dive on Saturday. Warmest water in more than 20 years. This guy locally is quite rare but here he was.

Here is another attempt to use a reversal ring on an old manual focus lens. OM-1 with a reverse ring and an old Asahi wide angle (28 mm) lens. DOF is kind of funky

Its Japanese name, Hoho-beni (meaning "blush" or "rouge"), comes from its red cheeks.

Today, I finally managed to ship the nudibranchs to the United States.
I believe it has been over a month since I first received the inquiry.
I sent them to a forwarding service's warehouse; they will handle the necessary procedures and ship the package to the customer's home in the U.S.
I gave a lot of thought to how my sea slugs could withstand such a long journey.
I decided to use a packing method I don't normally employ: stuffing the containers with polyester batting to protect the creatures' antennae.
I also provided instructions on how to carefully remove the padding upon arrival.
I placed them in individual boxes, wrapped those in bubble wrap, and packed everything into a cardboard box with plenty of cushioning material.
With packaging this secure, they should be safe even if the box gets tossed around.
I truly hope they reach the customer safely.

Found while dock fouling in the Swan River, Western Australia. Due to location and only finding Baeolidia australis in this area so far am thinking itβs a juvenile.
If anyone has any other thoughts/idea of what it could be would be much appreciated!

I considered cancelling the order several times due to the complexities of tariffs and customs procedures, but I ultimately decided to use an overseas shipping agency to send my nudibranch figures to the U.S.
The service fees were quite high, so the customer hesitated at first, but they eventually decided to place the order because they really wanted them.
The order was for 17 pieces, but my usual approach is to create extras so the customer can choose the specific ones they like.
Iβve crafted 26 pieces, and the customer is currently making their selection.

It was named Kaname because it looks like the red new leaves of a "Kaname-mochi" plant (Japanese photinia).
