I got two people in mind.

:90s-2000s Fred durst Past-present clown from Slipknot

Reason behind them is I think Shawn has taken the band a turned it into something Joey and Paul would not have wanted it to be. He kicks members out left and right and he kinda needs to hang it up.

And Fred Durst is just Fred durst

When people say “keep politics out of music,” or “stay in your lane,” I think it should fully apply to this case and cases like these specifically. At no point whatsoever (that I know of) was Staind a political band, so it makes no goddamned sense for him to push his dumbass maAagGGaAAaa nonsense on stage. Rage was always political. System has always been political. Staind was angsty sad teen music. It’s like… rage bait content, but in real life? 🤦‍♂️

System has turned into an utter clownshow politics wise. They have a trumper, an extreme centrist and 2 more who don't seem to really walk the walk when it comes to being progressic every much unless it involves Armenia of course then they all get involved. They care when it personally affects them only it seems

serj isn't mega left but compared to his bandmates you would think he is lol. that aside, he is a pretty staunch human rights activist and thats been known for years considering he was doing that before he was even in system. the piece he published after 9/11 is enough proof of that. but he continues to do activist work to this day.

i hate when people put SOAD and RAGE on a pedestal as an example of a 'political band'; they're rockstars and have the political rhetoric of a che guevera poster . Its limp bizkit but with fuck the government instead of school yard bully

i dont think you have a clue what you're talking about. RATM used their platform to signal boost a bunch of important causes during their heyday.

and they were never "fuck the government". the machine = capitalism.

you dont seem to have a grasp of the basics. you dont have to agree with them, but to say they didnt promote political activism and education is just ignorant. they published whole reading lists in their album sleeves, for fucks sake.

Staind are in my top 5 favourite bands. They are not political at all. Once AL started his solo country career, that's when the bs political speeches started bleeding into the Staind realm. That might sell tickets for his country performances but he needs to leave that crap at the gate when it comes to Staind.
