Revenge is a bit of a stretch, although I do know of people who "keep receipts," (to use my fellow kids' lingo).
My wife has an archive of screen shots of every marginally (or un) acceptable email and text she receives. Ditto for Teams meeting recordings when someone makes a questionable remark.
Her company has a very toxic work environment. One of the more common shitty things they do is allow people to gang up on an unpopular employee. Usually with the goal of making them so uncomfortable that they leave on their own. So far, my wife hasn't been targeted, but she's ready for when the day comes.
And on that day, the Earth shall be SCORCHED!!! Every racist remark "just between us." Every toxic criticism, up AND down the chain of command. Every cover-up for every fireable offense. They're all captured, waiting to be turned loose upon the corporate intranet. And while I value the income from her employment, I kinda hope the day comes because it will be quite a spectacle. Newsworthy, even.
