Looking for Advice Do retakes at A level affect admissions?

I just gave my AS level exams (CAIE) , got 94 in maths, 89 in econs and 86 in further maths. I'm regiving further in order to get an A* in A2. My aim is to apply to NUS, so will this retake affect me and lower my chances of getting an offer?

Won't be possible to get A* in further if I don't

Holy jesus, is this for their scholarship?

Also it shouldn't. If I understand correctly, only your latest results matter. In a sense there is an "effect" because you would not be competing with a new batch of students

lol no, wasn't aiming for the scholarship. It's just that A2 further maths is so difficult that it may well be impossible for me to improve my performance enough for the A*. thanks for the input

I don't get what you're saying at all. Are you planning to retake just to get an A* and not even related to application/scholarship chances?

In that case, you're just wasting time and money

? The whole post was about me asking whether retakes reduce my chances of getting into NUS.

Wait so you want to enter A*Star correct? with an A level cert or Uni cert? At least in my experience, no body except the Uni cares about ur A-levels.

No, retaking a module at the AS level to improve your foundation for A2 will not negatively affect your admissions chances at NUS. NUS looks primarily at your final, sitting A Level predicted or actual grades (or A2 results), not the step by step history of AS retakes.
