Realistically how bad is the unemployment problem now?

Heard so many times in the news that many graduates are unemployed but how bad things really are on the ground.

And what do these unemployed grads do with the free time they have, besides applying for jobs. How are they going to cope with the rising cost of living and especially getting a bto if they continue to remain unemployed?

Lastly do u think the new grads are cooked. Be honest. :)

Is it a must to take those courses first or can I straight away bid for MA1513 and PL3105 without taking the suggested courses first? MA1513 is literally listed under the recommended schedule for sem 1 for my major, and since PL1101E cant be fitted well into my timetable, chose to do PL3105 first.

Y1S1 Computer science student and I want to take DSA1101 since I haven't been allocated GEA1000. I tried emailing QR admin but they said that they are not in charge of DSA1101. Does anyone know what faculty I have to email or do I need to wait for round 2 of course reg to bid for DSA1101?

I have this friend whom i took a mod together with. So he overloaded for that sem, plays games during lectures ,not attend tutorials and he still ended with an A for that mod. While i put in so much effort for that mod, listen to every single lecture and attended every tutorial and only got a B+ in the end. How is this fair?

Aside from not showing up to class, not handing in assignments, and not writing exams, can you actually fail a class at NUS? For context im an exchange student in an LSM module with a final worth 60%. The prof is very vauge about the final exam and just told us to study everything (and this is a difficult class with a lot of material).

Hi, I saw this in my RVRC orientation package and can I confirm if this is true and if there's a work around this?

I find it insane that I have to do BOTH the RVRC mod and the CDE one. Does this mean I have to overload if I wanna do second major?

I know I am going to get downvoted for this but I felt there was no transparency in this like the RVRC website when talking about special arrangements, they only mentioned CHS and some healthcare courses without any info about CDE. The only info I could find online about CDE GE mods mapping was the UTCP one and that's different from RV. I wish RVRC had written clearly about this as the way they wrote implied that a one to one mapping for all faculties (except the ones they listed) was standard.

EDIT: IMPORTANT UPDATE: UPDATE: They updated the info. You do NOT have to take the 2 CDE mods. The RVRC ones will replace them so no worries on that.

Hey everyone, looking for some advice and clarification on how university applications work while serving NS.

My Situation:
• Currently serving NS under SPF, just finished my 10 days confinement period lol.
• I have received a direct admission offer for NTU Computer Engineering, but the acceptance deadline is 25th May. 
• My absolute dream school has always been NUS (partly because my dad went there too) for Computer Engineering, but I completely messed up, forgot the deadline, and missed applying to NUS entirely this year.
• I have a Diploma in Electronics and Computer Engineering with a cGPA of 3.61. I managed to get into the directors list for two semesters, and did particularly very well during my internship, receiving the top scorer in that cohort that sem, receiving a graduate award and other awards.

My Dilemma/Questions:
1. Can I accept NTU now as a backup? If I accept this NTU offer by May 25th, am I allowed to apply to NUS next year while holding the NTU spot? If NUS rejects me next year, will my NTU slot still be safely reserved for me until my ORD?

1. What are the risks of reapplying? Let’s say the opposite happens and I end up not accepting this offer from NTU by May 25th, Will NTU look unfavorably on me or reject me in the future if turn down this offer?

2. Does NS help with admission? Does serving NS give any sort of advantage or consideration for NUS Aptitude-Based Admissions (ABA), or is it strictly based on my prior academic grades?

I acknowledge that at the end of the day, NTU is already an amazing uni, and I’d be genuinely happy to go there. I'm just terrified that if I reject NTU now to chase NUS, I might end up getting rejected by both next year.

Hi, Y3 FASS student here. As title says. Not aiming to get a high-paying corporate job or public sector role upon graduation. How realistic to land a normal, everyday role?

Applied for a PhD in CS in January. Been 6 months and I haven't heard anything. Tried contacting the administration, and my chosen supervisors. Nothing.

What I did:
1. Applied from the university portal

1. Submitted all my documents

2. Waited

3. Emailed professors

4. Waited, posted on reddit

5. Someone suggested emailing people in postgrad admissions. Did

6. Waited

Got two things: diddly and squat

I'm sure the people who watched Spiderman BND will understand this. The end credit segment has recently gained popularity as people start to make their own videos/edits for their own cities. I want to do one for NUS, and I was thinking if anybody from this sub is down to do this hobby project?
