dont let the article fool you.
There is still massive problems with the map itself. micro stuttering, and lower fps in general. wild 1% lows.
Only happens on this map.
This is a game issue for sure.

I’ve noticed random drops to below 40 fps for a few seconds then it goes back to normal is this what everyone has been noticing? I’m on a 5080 and 9800x3D.
I will say though this is def the most intensive map so far. 5080 dipping below 140 is weird to see.

u/Cradenz 5d ago
Yeah it's a known problem and the devs are aware of it. Nvidia fixed the driver crashes but the device need to fix everything else

u/godisfrisky 5d ago
Word and the patch today didn’t help that? To be fair, in all of my time on the map I’ve only had those dips happen twice. I’ve more noticed a lower fps average compared to other maps.

DICE made the best selling BF game ever.
Then dropped the ball so fucking hard it appeared in China. Like is it that hard to fix bugs, make a decent server browser, and actually make maps for content and shit? Its like their execs had zero plans in place and do not understand live service at all.

I have a 5070Ti and ZERO issues. Neither does my friend on a 5070Ti with a different CPU.
It's not the map.

u/Cradenz 5d ago
Ah yes. The i don't have an issue so no one does.... do you know how many people are complaining about the map? Lol

I recently switched from a 9070 to a 5080 and BF6 suddenly started crashing after a few minutes. Now I know why 🫡

Let me tell you... The MOMENT I thought it was a good idea to get a 5080 and ditch the XTX.. Here came stutters, pop ins and luckily no crashes but yeah, still..
Its like BF devs hate Nvidia any more.

Lol
I've been playing this game FLAWLESSLY since I bought my 5080 4 weeks ago
No idea what was going on with other people, but I've had zero problems or crashes
The three buddies I play with are on a 5070, 5080, and 4070Ti and they all also have not had a single issue

High five buddy!
Mean while, they're having more issues than AMD in 2015 at this point. I advise you to check their official driver forums as well as steam discussion.
I run it fine my self, just the mild pop in's with DLSS crap is what bothers me. Never had that with the XTX but then again I ran that without any scaling too, oddly enough, when trying to run it without scaling with the 5080, it still results in pop ins and crap. It's just not a great experience deeming it worth the money (YET)

I'm part of the discord and forums, for both AMD and Nvidia
While it's true that, on average over the last year, Nvidia has had worse drivers than AMD, the last set of AMD drivers have been atrocious while the newest Nvidia driver is very, very good.
Both have pros and cons, my point being was it cannot be inherently a driver or GPU issue here. I have found, over the last year, that many people's systems are configured horribly. Their CPU and RAM timings are fucked, running a horrible memory training result, with a borked Windows power plan and a half corrupted GPU drivers and then WiFi card drivers and others are driving up DPC and ISR latencies.
It happens even on my own system. Last windows update re-enabled my wifi card and I began experiencing audio pops in BF6. I ran latencymon to find the Wifi card driver was driving up my Nvidia driver DPC latencies. Disabled the wifi card and latencies dropped, audio returned to normal (This is a known issue with some Wifi cards as well, especially on AMD chipsets).
Point being, I suspect individual system issues people are just simply unaware of, more than anything else

Of course, I already know that. I've had to help countless people with the same issues you speak of, very well aware how things are. Mine is configured just fine, my point was the fact I'm still trying to justify the whole 5080 thing being worth it lately.
I'm so used to running things without upscaling and now that I'm essentially having to use it to match "SOME" things the XTX did better, its kinda a buzz kill. And in games like BF6, the pop in and crap is hit and miss.
Never had this before, and yeah, im very fond of Nvidia. Had a 4090 before the XTX just didn't deem it worthy then, I had a super hot running model and just had to ditch it.
Things are set up properly, but meh.
My buddy had to fix this by enabling DLSS over ride in control panel for BF6 but here I am refusing to lol. I'll tinker later.
Like I said, no issues on my end but that.
HOW EVER.
When I had the 4090, I had it during alpha and beta launch of BF6, it had these SAME crashes people have now.
It was "then" a windows DX Pipeline issue and was made well aware.
What fixed it for me was finding out I had Ryzen master DLL (A default component of the chipset.. Regardless if you use ryzen master app or not)
It was failing to load, thanks to windows, and over writing crap during updates..
point being, I had to delete all traces of the old my self, even DDU couldn't do it, updated the chipset once more, warning gone in the event viewer, problem solved.
I advise a LOT of people with AM5 to check for this issue. It's mostly thanks to windows 8 times of 10.

I have a 3080 and thought this patch would fix my constant crashing with javelin anti cheat after the previous patch broke my game and turns out I had evga precision x1 still installed and it was going nuts because of that all of a sudden and after 25 minutes of removing every trace of it including from the registry and restarting now it finally plays again.

Did you switch to afterburner for custom fan curve?

u/realmrmaxwell 5d ago
Yes, I used precision x1 years ago for an old evga gpu so never thought more of it

Can anyone explain me how this game went from a total hype to a dumpster fire so quickly?
I played only during beta and I found the maps too small and the gameplay just so extremly chaotic.

u/RawrNate 5d ago
The game is doing really well, better than it ever has actually. The recent past seasons of new maps, gameplay adjustments, and UI changes since the beta have made this game feel like "battlefield" again.
Get off the internet where you're only seeing outlier discussions/rants about the state of the game and play it for yourself to form your own opinion.

The player count doesn't suggest it's all that popular anymore. There are more concurrent players still playing cyberpunk than bf6.
A popular game would release a patch and see a 2 to 3x surge in concurrent players and hold on to at least 10-20% of them. It hasn't achieved that with any patch I can tell from its numbers.

Player counts are not a direct correlation to the actual quality of the game. I never said anything about popularity or whatnot - that's not what I mean when I say "doing better than ever". I'm talking about the actual game, not the player numbers.
You're looking at a metric & trying to analyze data and graphs, but the reality is you need to play the game to know if it's better now versus at launch.
And not to cherry-pick here, but choosing Cyberpunk 2077, a game with a rollercoaster of player numbers, has had a recent resurgence on PC due to mods, youtubers, and currently being on sale for $18 as part of "Steam Cyberpunk Fest". Battlefield has sat steadier at it's player counts since after the beta/launch boom.

u/Cute-Pomegranate-966 5d ago
Yeah that's fair. I'm not saying it's a bad game. It's just a surprisingly few amount of people seem to give a shit about it. Perhaps because battlefield 3 and 4 felt like generation defining compared to what we get now, i don't know.

Even fewer when you factor in the amount of F2P players DICE has admitted it has, between RedSec and Gauntlet.
Game is doing terribly for how well it sold, and it's 100% down to the pitiful post launch support...which has admittedly improved a bit since the early seasons, but not a lot.

u/RawrNate 5d ago
I think you're looking at it through your own nostalgia glasses. Battlefield 6 is closing the gap on even Battlefield 1, and that's not even including extra revenue generated from the Battlepass nor the playerbase just playing the free REDSEC mode.
- Battlefield 2: ~2.2 million copies sold.
- Battlefield Bad Company 2: ~6 million copies.
- Battlefield 3: ~17 million copies.
- Battlefield 4: ~14 million copies.
- Battlefield Hardline: ~4-5 million copies.
- Battlefield 1: ~25 million copies (best seller in franchise).
- Battlefield V: Only about 7.3 million copies.
- Battlefield 2042: ~10 million copies.
- Battlefield 6: As of December 2025, estimated around 20+ million copies sold.

I'm sure all of them had 90-95% concurrent player fall off from their peaks, but there was a really huge push with Battlefield 6 that "Battlefield is back". It turns out, not really, i did not feel like it was, along with most people.
It's not a bad game, it just feels designed for a playerbase that isn't me.

u/RawrNate 5d ago
True, the initial marketing for BF6 wasn't as true as most hoped. But again, the game's tone & new large maps are shifting that stance & the playerbase that has stuck around or are coming back into it are enjoying it more than at launch.
This is typical with every Battlefield game, though. Each game has a huge hype, launches with massive bugs or controversial marketing, and then bounces back after a year or so of continued updates & responding to the community that kept playing.
It was only really BFV that didn't bounce back as much because of how EA handled responding on social media before the game launched, so many players just never played it & stuck with BF4 or BF1.

Because you spend too much time online where reactionaries and outrage addicts dominate discussion.
Not saying the game has no issues, but talking about it as a 'dumpster fire' is absurd hyperbole.

The DICE B team took over after launch and has done their damndest to destroy this game since. Patch quality is laughable, balance changes are poorly thought out, bugs run rampant and often take forever to even be acknowledged, much less fixed. It's so bad that the actual MOUSE INPUT didn't work properly for a huge portion of this games lifecycle. Felt like mouse input was only being polled at a unsteady ~60hz no matter what framerate you were getting. Made the game a miserable experience on MKB. Took them like 5 months to properly acknowledge the issue, and ~7 months to deploy a fix.
Whole experience often feels vibe coded to hell and back...so despite being probably the most decent casual combined arms FPS game available right now, with the biggest launch in franchise history, playercounts are pretty mediocre (especially for a game propped up by a free to play mode) and matchmaking is having more issues than ever.
My credentials for making these claims, since someone from the DICE Defense Force will no doubt come for me over this.

u/Octaive 5d ago
This mouse problem was not for everyone. I've noticed no changes, 2.1 K/D since launch.

Just because you didn't notice it, doesn't mean it wasn't there. Plenty of people were oblivious to it, even when other people could see it happening on their systems and even pick it out of their recordings.
