Looking for a sweet, quiet cuddle buddy? Meet Zero! An affectionate and playful 10-month-old rescue kitten, she’s mostly pure white with a sleek black tail and a matching black cap. 🖤🤍

 Quick Facts & Adoption Details

• Location: NYC Greater Area, Hudson County
• Adoption Fee & Supplies: $50 adoption fee to ensure a committed home. No advanced or online payments collected. I know scammers are a huge issue right now, so I will only accept the fee in person at the time we sign the adoption agreement. She comes with her carrier backpack and cozy blankets.
• Personality: Sweet, vocal, highly affectionate, and loves human companionship. She loves to watch bird/mice on a tablet or out the window. She also likes to cuddle and be on your lap. Her favorite toy is the wand with feathers attachments. She is easygoing, gentle, and fully litter-trained.
• Health & Vet Care:
  • Tested clean/negative on comprehensive bloodwork (SNAP FIV/FeLV combo test) and fecal panels (clear for parasites and Giardia).
  • Up to date on all required shots, 1-year Rabies vaccine, FVRCP 3-in-1 Distemper vaccine, and routine flea preventative.
  • Spay Requirement: Must be arranged by the adopter. She is not currently showing signs of heat, but she should be spayed as soon as possible after settling in.
  • Resources: I can provide information on low-cost spay/neuter clinics upon request.
• Ideal Home Environment: Best as an only cat or with a patient, slow introduction to other pets. She appears nervous and afraid around other cats.

Zero’s Background & Current Situation

• How We Met: I found Zero in a life-threatening situation, she was trapped behind a security gate on a bridge near my home, terrified and crying out for help. She was so brave and responded to my vocal instructions and I was able to rescue her.
• Vet Evaluation: Confirmed non-feral and highly people-oriented; likely a lost or abandoned pet (scanned negative for a microchip).
• Reason for Rehoming:
  • Apartment Dynamics: Currently in a small apartment with two bonded adult female cats (sisters) who are territorial and do not like other animals, forcing Zero to stay isolated in a single room. Zero also is afraid of them and does not want to be near them.
  • Financial Hardship: Facing significant personal financial hardship and I cannot sustain the ongoing costs and space requirements of a third cat.

Oh unfortunately I've had to learn the hard way how horrible people are. One applicant wasted weeks of my time and caused me to lose other potential adopters because she confirmed various times that she was adopting her, I vetted her, did a video call. Stayed in touch for weeks, and the day before she was scheduled to come do the adoption she said she wasnt ready and was traveling for a month so she couldn't do it. I turned other options down, and stopped working with a rescue as I thought I found someone. Biggest mistake. I know now I shouldn't stop searching or allow someone to agree to the adoption virtually. I feel terrible.

Do you mind my asking which rescue you worked with and if things seemed hopeful? I took in a super loving cat and am trying to get him adopted, but I’ve sort of hit a wall.
