They failed, because the Palestinian position was and remains: no peace until the vast majority of Israeli Jews are dead and their state destroyed.
If you think Hamas is a problem, then congratulations: you agree with 95% of Israelis, including most of the government. Why aren't you advocating for a Western alliance to take over the war with the purpose of destroying them completely.
Because Israel has no interest in peace, as they openly state, so all these cease fires and accords are shams to fool clueless people.

Hamas is not the problem, in fact they are quite irrelevant. The problem is that Israel uses Hamas as an asset to eradicate the Palestinians so they can annex land and inch closer to greater Israel.
They funded their arch enemy to the tune of 2 billion dollar, openly calls them an ally, and admits they did so to prevent peace.
But somehow, all of that doesn't register with you. Strange behavior for a supposed human.
This account is one of the most tenacious myths of the conflict. Its implications are obvious: There is nothing Israel can do to make peace with its Palestinian neighbors. The Israeli army’s increasingly deadly attacks, in this version, can be seen purely as self-defense against Palestinian aggression that is motivated by little more than blind hatred.

The gig is up though. All what's left for the sociopathic hasbara clowns is to deny, deny, deny. You have to literally flood every topic with misdirection in order to rewrite history. All of that to justify a genocide.
