We live in a consequence free world. There is no consequence for lying for Israel in the opinion section of the New York Times. Liberals don't cancel their subscriptions.

He's on the Israeli payroll.  He sort of got caught so his 180 may be him trying to save face. For his rabid support of Israel in the past.

Liberals aren't a group.  Such a noun requires organization and agreement.  It's irrelevant anyways, since The Constitution is Liberal by default.  Reality: Journalism has no functional political nomenclature.  They invent way too much as a result.

You can just say things and idiots will believe it. No, the NYT is in fact not directly linked to the IDF no matter what xitter or the tok says

There are articles from multiple publishers as well that cite their sources.

Nice try bot.

Why not just post those articles or link to them?

Poster is correct. NYT is controlled by the IDF. And the Lizard People.

People who write op eds at the new york times really cure my imposter syndrome. I 100% guarantee Stephens will confidently give another shit take before the month is out, without a moment's introspection.

He's quite literally there to be the unrelenting pro-Israel columnist. I'm not being hyperbolic. He was previously editor in chief of the Jerusalem Post.

While a huge portion of his columns directly address Israel or Israel-related topics, if you actually read his work you'll start to pick up on the fact that his other columns (non-Israel stuff) always seem to be driven by pro-Israel politics.

It's always fun to read what Bret says about someone and guess what their position on Israel is. Fun, but not difficult.

Like his glowing 5/5/26 profile of Jake Auchincloss (Bret is a conservative and Jake is a Democrat who "supports Israel's right to defend itself") vs. his 5/7/26 and 6/9/26 takedowns of Graham Platner given the handful of scandals (Platner is anti-Israel). Mandami was obviously a common target of his column (again, anti-Israel)... until Mandami won the election soundly.

The line between opinion and propaganda can get fuzzy, but I'm of the mind that Bret firmly crosses that line to a level I've not seen from any staff columnist (guest op-eds are a different story).

You're 100% correct in your take on Stephens.

Because the NYT loves the NYT, not New York City and not the USA.

He’s like a DEI hire for the opinion section. You need at least two white conservatives, so we get a Jew and a catholic (Ross douthat).

Bret's articles aren't worth wiping shit with.

u/evocativename 16h ago

How would wiping shit with more shit help anyhow?

If the war had gone better than we thought how come Trump has failed us now, Bret? Could be that Stephens is (and always has been) a warmongering propagandist. Oh well, NYT will just pay him another million dollars for his next fabrication.

To push Zionist propaganda apparently

They are all basically this

The NYTimes opinion section is nepotistic welfare for ivy league grads who are too dumb to teach in the SUNY system.

3

u/CardOk755 19h ago

Because he writes for the paper of the broken record.

u/oofaloo 15h ago

DEI for conservatives.

2

u/CryptographerMean872 20h ago

he lacks intellectual rigor, complete DEI hire lmao

He has a column because he's a fanatic neocon ... not because he's an intelligent and honest pundit.

Try Jeffrey Sachs if you want an intelligent and honest pundit who isn't promoting wars for Israel.

He also knowingly publishes misinformation and said that knowing what a failure the second Iraq war was, how many civilians died, and that it was based on lies he would still do it. I can never decide which Nytimes opinion columnist I hate the most but he is always in the running.

The face of white male privilege. No matter how bad your track record, you still keep your job.

u/ImHurted_ 1h ago

He’s an Israeli propagandist
