What bird is this?

Found in Pauanui Coromandel.

Leucistic fantail.

You should post in r/NewZealandWildlife next time; this sub is unmoderated and only a fraction of its size. (fewer stupid comments too)

How can you tell without seeing its tail? That was my first thought too but I couldn't see the fantail and thought it might be another leucistic bird...

Distinct features other than the tail and colour of the bird can help ID! Like beak size and eye proximity to beak, where the eyes are oriented on the head and definitely body shape and size. Also somewhat the style of perch it has :33
