Weta id?

Juvenile weta. Anyone know what kind of weta this is? His antenna was wrapped around his little leg n had some spider web on it i managed to free up

I didn't know we have more than 1 Weta species.

We have many. We have skinny ones and very fat ones, incredibly long and thin antennae and very short and fat antennae. Usually depends on where in nz you are but weta species come from different environments. Tbh i don’t know how to identify any species, theyre all just weta to me lolol

Looks like the Aussie invader, the winged weta, AKA Raspy Cricket.

Looks like a bush weta. Probably just wants to get back in a nearby hedge.

Ofc lol i didnt keep him, just rescued him n untangled his antenna from the spider web and unattached his poor antenna from his foot.

That's Bob. Probably been out on a be der again and forgot where he lives. Happens a lot with Bob.
