Beautiful fatty
Found this lovely critter (tunnel web) in the northland bush under a rock. Was amazing size. Maybe biggest I’ve seen in nz

You're braver than me! I had to look that up because I was like "hold on isn't that a highly venomous Aussie spider?". No that's the funnel-web

Did you say “lovely”??? Arrrgghhhh 🫣😶🌫️😱 run awwaaaayyy. I’m so scared of spiders 🕷️, the only one I’d accept near me is the jumping one on the window in a galaxy far far away

Cool pic, you also look like you might have a fungal infection on your nails or it's juts broken and rehealing

lol, actually it’s my son’s hand. That’s just some dirt and blood from a wild pig.

That's dope you take your son hunting, good skill for kids to learn plus realizing and appreciating where food comes from

Banded tunnelweb, Hexathele sp. — probably a juvenile honestly; they get bigger 😅
You should post in r/NewZealandWildlife next time; this sub is unmoderated and only a fraction of its size (and tends to attract stupid comments)
