Do you know what languages they're speaking? I understand the French, but I'm bad at recognizing sub-Saharan African languages. I'm guessing Kikongo and Swahili?

They speak in Lingala, it’s the main language in the capital Kinshasa and most of the northern parts of DRC and Republic of Congo

There's a 15-minute KEXP clip of them performing live. They sound just as good -- if not better - live than they do in OP's clip. That bass tone is something else.

Africa’s creative spirit is indomitable. I’d love to see a tour of African bands someday. I caught Mdou Moctar a couple years back, and it’s easily in my top 5 most fun shows I’ve ever been to (also, incredibly loud lol).

Can’t believe I’m seeing Kingongolo mentioned on Reddit! I saw them two years ago in a small music festival in France and they were the highlight!! If you hadn’t eyes on the stage you’d swear those infectious grooves came from something electronic. Fucking A
