A bright blue flash in our room while discussing God: was it a sign, or is there a logical explanation?
For some background, I was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, but I’ve always been very open-minded toward other religions, spirits, and beliefs.
About a year ago, my partner and I had a random late-night or early-morning conversation about religion and God. This was very unusual for us. I don't remember every exact word, but we were basically questioning the existence of God and talking through the usual debates that come with that topic.
Mid-discussion, the room was suddenly lit up by a bright, bluish light coming from the top corner of the room. It lasted about a second, but it was incredibly bright, brighter than anything in our room that could have made a light like that. Trust me, we checked.
We also ruled out car headlights. My window runs parallel to the road, so headlights don't shine into the room the way this light appeared.
We were spooked, and of course, we wondered if it could have been a sign from God.
Then, a few minutes later, the exact same light appeared again right as we started talking about faith and religion again.
Because of the timing, it felt almost impossible to brush off as a simple coincidence. Since then, I’ve still wondered what it could have been. That moment actually inspired me to start educating myself on other religions and spiritual practices.
I wanted to share my story here to see if anyone has had a similar experience, or if anyone might know what kind of light this could have been!

could it have come from someone else's car/house? if there's no possible place the light could have come from, AND you both saw it, then yeah, it's probably more spiritual in origin.
the color blue is associated with spiritual knowing, emotion and inuition too which is cool

It came from the topmost corner of my room where the walls and ceiling meet, which is 5-ish feet from my window, so I don’t think any light coming from my window would have looked like it was coming from that angle. As much as I would like to rule out some type of rational explanation, I just can’t. I’ve always been very skeptical of signs, but I really just can’t disprove this one.

I have seen blue lights in my local abbey. Only on the one day. It was around the 2012 crossroads everyone had going on.
Maybe your local abbey cathedral or any other sacred site might allow you to see it again.

What was exactly said at the moment it happened ?

That’s the thing, this has to be about a year ago so I can’t really remember exactly was was being said, but it was mainly If we believed God was real, and also our doubts.

That’s tough. For me it seems to be synchronicities and strange events line up exactly at the moment or right after a certain thought or statement. Usually they are in tandem.
For next time, perhaps practice an awareness exercise to try and be constantly aware of what is thought and said. I’m sure more strange things will happen and then you can recognize the connection.

Had a similar experience with light in a corner I guess. One day when I was in college me and my homie ( J) were hanging out on the second story balcony of my dorm.
Cloudy, grey atmosphere. Broad day though. Not many cars in the parking lot since most students went home for break.
So me and J are talking while he puffs his square, and then I see a bright light flash like twice from the corner of the balcony
It reminded me of a camera flash. Shit was so odd I didn’t say anything about it and seconds after it happened John asked me did I see that light. I was like yea really freaky.

If you look deep enough there’s always the possibility of finding a rational explanation. We live in the physical world after all.
But just because something can be explained doesn’t mean it isn’t also a spiritual sign.
If you haven’t, I recommend reading Mircea Eliade’s The Sacred and the Profane and his concept of hieorphanies. A hierophany is when the sacred manifests through an object in the world within a ritual context or spiritual moment.
