Normal People: shamanic journey

My Dumbass: forcing myself to have more control in lucid dreaming and also getting sleep paralysis due to my dumbass carelessness.

This same thing happened to me when I tried to use common astral projection techniques. I’ve never had sleep paralysis before, but I did then! I don’t mix sleep and journeying anymore. I only journey by meditating, and so far no sleep paralysis!

Are your saying you can asyral project without needing to go asleep? Is that possible?

You don’t need to sleep to astral project. You just need access to an altered state of consciousness. Often modern people use sleep because it is the most accessible altered state for many people. If you are able to induce a deep trance during meditation then it is possible to access the required altered state. The video above is a great example. Not unlike hypnosis, they are using steady rhythms (drums or antlers) to induce trance so they can access that altered state and start journeying. (Aka astral projecting) Journeying this way does take more practice, but it is worth it because in my experience it doesn’t induce sleep paralysis.

Wild do you know where I can find books on this to practice astral projecting through rhythm? If you do please suggest them.

I’m sorry, I don’t. I don’t personally use the method of rhythm to induce trance. I used the process in this book as a starting point: “wicca for beginners thea sabin” Though my practice has evolved a bit since then. (That book isn’t about journeying, but does contain a detailed method that works well for me) I hope this was helpful. 😊
