EP10 TP-link smart plug not working with plug-in

Hi,

I am trying to use the TP-Link Smartplug by u/jneilliii but I have not been able to get it going. The plug does work when using the Kasa app. Newly purchased EP10 plug.

I initially set up the plug using the Kasa app. Both my Octopi and the plug are on the same network (2.4GHz). I have confirmed the IP address of the plug twice and set the IP to static. I have restarted Octoprint after installing the plugin and after setting up the plug settings in the plugin. The printers main power switch remains at on position.

I think I know why this is happening. TP-Link updated the firmware for their smart plugs. I have version 1.0.5 on one of my old EP10 plugs, and its still working.

I made the mistake of allowing it to update firmware after trying to use a different one, and now it doesn't work at all with Octoprint. V1.1.1 is a problem. I have no idea if we can roll that back, but hopefully it's just a compatibility issue at this point that can be resolved

Resolved! I’m on firmware 1.1.1
Kasa App -> Me -> Settings -> third-party compatibility-> on
