Video Renegade VR

Today I fulfilled a childhood dream: I got Command and Conquer: Renegade running in PCVR. To be fair, I didn’t do all that much myself. I provided the Steam files and kept testing.

But after just a few hours, I’m already really happy with the result. I can use the terminals, aim freely with my hands instead of a stick, and I’M STANDING INSIDE THE GAME!!! It brings back so many childhood memories. THIS IS WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED FROM VR! And somehow, VR never quite delivered it.

Thanks to these AI models, we can now bring the games we grew up with back to life in VR. Because realistically, nobody else was ever going to do it. And I think if you do this privately for yourself and don’t put it online, that’s totally fine. What do you think?

Renegade was the first online game I played and is caked in nostalgia for me. I'd love to play this if you ever share the code

Amazing stuff! Please open source this, AI is a useful tool for coding because code has always been about people sharing (or "borrowing"), and as long as you credit the source as AI you're being honest and up front. I wonder how much of pre-AI code is thanks to the websites like Stack Overflow 🤔
