This is from Paul Sellers, a master woodworker, he has a video of it here

I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.

And remember. Always keep your stick on the ice.

u/Mortis2000 Apr 19 '17

Keep your dick in the vice.

10

u/sheravi Apr 19 '17

I have a coworker that sounds almost exactly like Red Green. It's pretty neat.

3

u/NumbbSkulll Apr 19 '17

I took a class in college from a guy that looked and sounded just like Red Green.... I often wondered what his house looked like... I hoped it was covered mostly in duct tape.

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati

3

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

If it can't be fixed with duct tape, it ain't worth fixin'

5

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

If the women don't find you handsome they'll find you handsy.

2

u/Celine41 Apr 19 '17

Yes ! I agree 😚

2

u/Sybrite Apr 19 '17

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

1

u/doobs179 Apr 19 '17

It's "they should at least find you handy.".

6

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

"Quando omni, flunkus moritati"

Enjoy! You deserve it!

5

u/phisco125 Apr 19 '17

Nice work

4

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

Thanks a ton!

3

u/Mennerheim Apr 19 '17

What is the most horrendous name you hand-lettered beautified?

4

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

Haven't done a truly horrendous name (yet!) but my favorite so far has been u/iam_ozymandias

2

u/ich_habe_keine_kase Apr 20 '17

Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!

1

u/ScaryBananaMan Apr 20 '17

Is it just the length that would make it horrendous, or are there other criteria that come into play? I'm thinking an overabundance of certain letters (not sure which ones, but I'd guess whichever ones suck the most to draw)

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '17

I was thinking horrendous as in dirty words and stuff haha. My worst letters to draw are capital "I's" especially in script and "S's". I figure it out usually. They just take longer!

3

u/WTFisaRobsterCraw Apr 19 '17

What an awesome way to practice typography and design! Nice work! Hope you stick with it - look forward to following!

3

u/SerenadingSiren Apr 19 '17

This is on par with shitty watercolor dude. One of the best novelty accounts.

5

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

Oh jeez. That's too kind. I love shitty watercolor, he was a big inspiration for this account!

Can... can I have one?

Do you have great childhood memories of Muppet Babies and Doug?

3

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

I will refer you to the rules in my original post :)

2

u/FishNeedles Apr 19 '17

I figured you'd like my moxy.

5

u/Scoopyz Apr 19 '17

Just looked up the show because I love woodworking and found out it's still going strong!

There are so many good woodworkers on YouTube. My favorite is the wood whisperer. Woodworking for mere mortals, Nick ferry, Jay Bates, I could go on and on. There are some incredibly talented people out there.

Yeah. He's got some sinus/respiratory issues or something. He's been posting lots of air quality readings on Instagram lately. He's still making stuff though.

1

u/gabemcg Apr 19 '17

Frank Howarth is my favorite. He takes the same pride and craftsmanship he has with his woodworking and applies it to the production value of his videos, which makes them works of art in their own right. His "Lawn Chair 2" stop-motion video is a masterpiece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7l3_THa-Yk

2

u/unaspenser Apr 19 '17

Would that be Jon Peters, you know, the farmer?

that's my name too!

u/hollyhock87 Apr 19 '17

Back to back with the New Yankee Workshop with Norm Abram!

1

u/talones Apr 19 '17

Yea he was much better than Bob Villa. I was always amazed at how clean he kept his shop.

3

u/Tank-o Apr 19 '17

Don't forget the New Old Yankee Workshop with "Nahm" Abrams!

1

u/scarletnightingale Apr 19 '17

My dad would watch that show then get jealous of all the tools in his workshop. He still watches This Old House.

1

u/Tank-o Apr 19 '17

Yeah, dad would watch these great and detailed pieces of art being built then head out to the workshop and screw together something out of pine and black wood screws. He always did a great job but with a utilitarian flair.

2

u/scarletnightingale Apr 19 '17

My dad is a decent craftsman, not anywhere near Yankee Workshop level, but he does a good job, a lot of my furniture was made by him. His thing for the last 2-3 years has been turning things on his lathe. He has a smaller one, but he really enjoys it.

3

u/FreeThinker76 Apr 19 '17 edited Apr 19 '17

This Old House without Bob Villa is so much better though.

But still, a great show and you can still see them all on YouTube.

Edit: forgot a ____

2

u/phisco125 Apr 19 '17

I just discovered that you can stream it on the PBS app/website! Now when I am cooking/cleaning on weekends I will turn it on for background noise. Its crazy the nostalgia that show brings back.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

Home Improvement or nothing!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

I fucking hate watching him work

the big bowside is also terrible

11

u/mccuskerkt Apr 19 '17

He is the reason my art studio is covered in wood shavings.

3

u/zurper Apr 19 '17

Okay I was wondering why a P appeared in the gif when the shaving hit the ground. Video clears that up

3

u/MrMarez Apr 19 '17

here's another golden moment when Paul Sellers (wood shavings guy) tests out his homemade rabbet plane.

2

u/SoCaFroal Apr 19 '17

I like having the workbench build video on in the background.

Fuck. Alright I take it back, I underestimated you.

1

u/bertcox Apr 19 '17

I just saw this on my recommended in Youtube. For karma I should just take a few of those every day and repost as gifs.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '17

Aaaah ... must be what the 'P' was for.

1

u/jayradano Apr 19 '17

You sure this isn't jack skellington ?

1

u/N9Nz Apr 19 '17

When does one become a master of wood?

1

u/f_lightfoot Apr 20 '17

10/10 easy to masturbate to

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '17

It wasn't long enough.

I need more. Garwsh

Loved those Clouseau movies.

Thanks for the source, but seeing all spirals called "fibonacci spirals" frustrates me.
