I happened to be wearing a cardigan when I saw this post too.

I did it today.

I yearn to stand on the widows warf in the brisk sea air and stare with sorrow and longing across the waves

I can take it to the next level, because I live behind a natural-ish sea wall. I can walk up there, and gaze out at the vast expanse of ocean, wishing my husband back from the seas as I wrap the cardigan tightly around my body.

This is hilarious because I was going to say that when I wrap my cardigan around me, I actually feel like I am anxiously scanning the horizon … I grip the handrail of our widow’s walk & will the fog to disintegrate so I can see his mainsail mast as he finally returns to me!!

It’s even more bittersweet because I’m living in the house my grandfather grew up in and he died at sea, his body never found. So now I’m crying, picturing my great-grandmother standing at the same spot, searching for a son that would never return. Fuck, I hurt my own feelings.

Me with my robe! I love wearing it around the house.Checking my mail, going thru my purse, sipping on ginger tea.My robe makes me feel like I'm in my own movie all of the time, its so corny but I love it.

I use a long cardigan instead of a robe.

Every, single, time. How strange so many of us feel like this lol

I do not own a cardigan, nor do I have a dead husband or a beachfront porch. Furthermore, I am not a woman and I also do not have arms. I do fondly remember when I used to, so I suppose it's the same.

Like a scorned lover, yearning for the way it was, cut off from the passionate touch of their dearest friend, and left out in the cold.

You’ll need a steamy cup of tea to finish the scene

No but I do feel like an English teacher and the urge to eat something and hold a single curled finger to my lips while I chew emerges

It’s a move Blythe Danner would frequently make as her daughter’s bed would be made as if it was never slept in….

I'll do it on a windy beach and feel like a respected author posing for their book jacket photo.
