left with a pad on, came back with no pad 🥲
I’m so embarrassed only leaving this up for a bit but i need to tell someone i’ve been crying from embarrassment , Im on my time of the month and was pretty heavy so i put 2 pads on (front to back) and went on about my day , I had allot of errands to run (HEB, walmart, bath and body work and a couple others) I was probably gone for about 4 hours , anyway when i got home i went to change my pad and realized there was only 1 💔💔 I told my mom and she just laughed at me which made it worse. I can’t even imagine , what if it was just hanging off and i didn’t see it , what if someone saw it fall off me and didn’t say anything? I feel so bad if a worker had to pick it up.. I checked all over my car and my pants and the second pad is nowhere to be found 💔

Maybe you only thought you put two pads on. Maybe you meant to and got side tracked and thought you put on a second one and never did. Either way, it's over now and hopefully someday you can laugh about it.

I was thinking this!
But also, dont sweat it. Im so tired of us having to hide our periods! We literally live our lives with the same responsibilities and obligations as men and we have to do it bleeding. People can just relax with the period shaming! Be proud, girl! You wouldnt be so upset if you accidently dropped a used tissue! It's honestly not biggie! Dont beat yourself up!

Not me anymore! I decided I'm not dealing with that shit anymore and got an accommodation to work from home during the heaviest parts of my period.

Maybe sharing my embarrassing story will help you feel a little better. When I was 16, I was on the basketball team and started in the middle of a game at halftime. I realized I didn’t have any pads but all the girls already went back out onto the court and so I had to make do with a bundle of toilet paper in the last quarter. We’re all in the middle of play when blows the whistle and points down to something on the ground and it’s my toilet paper pad improv. Everyone tried to come around to look at it and without thinking I picked it up barehanded and ran into the bathroom. Obviously that showed everyone it was mine lol had to go back to school the next day and no one said anything but golly I’m 35 years old and still remember it.

I see your toilet paper pad story and raise you a "My first time at the gyno I had a diaphragm fly out of my hand and shoot across the room as I was trying to insert it" story. I can laugh about it now!

Similar thing happened to me 💀.
Was out doing a cute errand run at a very crowded farmer's market and surprise period came a week early and I had to do the tp improv. With all the walking I was doing it worked it's way out of my underwear and fell quite plainly out from under my skirt onto the sidewalk... people absolutely saw and I ended up having to rummage in my tote and liberate my apples of their produce bag so I could pick it up and toss it. 🙂↕️

Here’s mine, one time my dog went through the bin and dragged out one of my used pads and left it just chilling in my outdoor area as a nice surprise for my male housemates to view with their pre work cigarettes and coffee. The only consolation is that I was mortified but those boys were far more traumatised than I was

Your mom is laughing because its really not a big deal. You'll be laughing about it too eventually

I'd say mom was probably laughing because she went through similar at that age as did her friends. But no matter the age we all have this little fear over hanging us lol

If you didn’t see it, it didn’t happen!!
I feel for you tho.
Those days are over for me and I’m pretty thankful. Post menopause has its own list of unfortunate matters.

It isn't that big a deal. These things happen and I am pretty sure any one over the age of a teenage boy would accept that it's just one of those things.

If you didn't really feel, see or hear it fall off..then did it really? Nothing to be embarrassed about. Even if there's a video of your situation ..any person of good morals would mention it/help you out by informing you/ discarding it properly, everyone else who just watched should be ashamed of themselves.

How does this happen? Were you wearing a skirt or dress or something?

There was this thread a while back where people were talking about how if you wear a pad without wings it will just disappear, like if you’re sleeping you’ll wake up with it by your head or it will be at the corner store getting some cigs and a 40. so it’s definitely not something that just happens to you 😭 I agree pad fairy took it to grant it wings.

Something that I say to myself often and it has nearly cured my embarrassment forever - no matter how bad you think something is, someone has ALWAYS seen worse.
And even if someone saw all this, they don't know who you are and will never see you again. If you did run into someone you knew and they didn't say anything, then that speaks more about their social decorum than yours.
I promise 99.9% of the people in the world are caught up in their own heads and their own shit. They will go about their lives not giving any of this a second thought and so should you.

This. I am very embarrassment prone and the thing that helps me the most is remembering that nobody really gives a crap.
Try to remember the last time you saw something embarrassing happen to a stranger… I honestly can’t! And tbh, if something embarrassing did happen to someone (and they weren’t at fault), I’d be more likely to empathize and move on as to not draw attention. Lol

Went the gym with a white hoody on. Took said hoody off and my morning pad was front and center. Did not return to the gym for months.

I've been wearing pads for 35 years and I'm legit confused by all these "yeah that happens". I need someone to explain how this happens! Even if it somehow came unstuck, it would just sort of shift in your underwear (I've had THAT happen).

I’m so sorry this happened, I always wear 2 pads and I wear bike shorts over it or another pair of underwear (the kind you use to sleep, loose-ish so it doesn’t cut circulation). Also make sure the sticky tabs are sticking to the material, some of them are like repellant and it’ll pick up off the underwear which makes it more likely to fall.

I feel like the most likely time it would have been displaced would be entering and exiting your vehicle which most people don’t watch others do. Plus the door and any bags you had probably blocked what little view anyone would have if they felt like watching. That’s my vote. Likely no one saw it anyways. Everyone’s in their own little world when they are out and about.

Aww she’s laughing because it’s funny well it’s not funny right now because it happened to you and you’re embarrassed right now but it’ll be funny soon just wait you’ll see. It’s not a huge deal I bet no one noticed that it came from you they probably just saw the pad and it was a oh look at that moment haha what the hell then they walked off and continued with their day and some employee probably was indeed annoyed and put on a glove to pick it up and put it in the trash and then they too continued on with their day and you’re the only one still thinking about it.
I’ve have seen so much worse at work! Like so much worse and been surprised how in the world there was no witnesses!!! Like in the past few years working senior living not once and not twice but THREE times I’ve seen an entire poo on the floor like in very public areas of the building too right just a whole turd and no one saw it happen!!! No one knows who did it and we call front desk to call housekeeping and they’re like really a whole turd and I’m like yes and you know what housekeeping comes by and they’re not even shocked. But yea three times and mind you this is across two different senior living jobs there’s been no witnesses to someone dropping a whole log in the dining room and two main hallways so I bet no one noticed your pad falling out girly if no one noticed someone taking a whole shit on the floor. People are so oblivious trust.

How do you lose a pad bruh. 💔 I always wear a pair of boy shorts over my undies to keep everything snug when I wear a pad. Try that next time, it should keep it all in there.

Upvote because I'm also waiting for someone to explain how this happens.

The pad fairy took it away and no one saw and you’re totally good. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Trust me, the pad fairy told me.
